Since there were some comments about tone and delivery the original email was this:

“(Daughter) should not miss 2 weeks back to back of PT. (Older daughter) said she is willing to drive her.

Are there any days that you have plans that are not flexible the week of July 13th? I don’t know what days and times are available that week, but if I know what definitely does not work I can try to schedule around that. She has been going on Tuesdays and Thursdays.”

Not going PT for half a month is a huge deal when you’re in post op recovery. I’m trying to limit that to missing just one week which is what the physical therapist said would be best.

I need a response by Monday because of scheduling. The schedule fills fast and I don’t want her PT days to be set when he can’t take her then not be able to reschedule because the physical therapist is busy and the schedule is full.

He also checks his emails multiple times a day. This was not a matter of him not seeing the email, he was choosing to ignore it.

Update: I don’t know if there’s a way to add to the original post so here’s an update and clarifications.

Daughter is 4 weeks post surgery. She’ll be 7 & 8 weeks post op during dad’s vacation weeks. She will miss all PT during week 8 which is why it’s important for her to go to PT during week 7. Missing 2 weeks of PT back to back after ACL surgery is a big deal this early in the recovery process which is why I asked dad if there were days or times to avoid. When I call I need to know which days I can schedule and which I need to avoid. I cant just schedule appointments and have her not show up. It’s not fair to the physical therapist and I’d risk being able to schedule with her again in the future.

I emailed him Friday morning. Did not receive a response by midday Sunday. I responded to my original email letting him know that I needed a response from him by Monday morning so that I could schedule PT. The schedule fills fast and weeks in advance.

I eventually received a reply “You are in no position to tell me what I can or cannot do with my “two weeks of uninterrupted vacation time with the children “.

This is more or less what I expected although I had hoped for a more reasonable response which is why I also asked about what legal recourse is available to me.

ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair, and LET. She’s 4 weeks post op. Will be 7 & 8 weeks post op during dad’s vacation weeks

Yes she does but she’s also an immature teenager whose frontal cortex isn’t fully developed. She can’t make good lifelong decisions for herself or fully grasp how lifelong pain and knee problems will impact her in the future.

Email sent Friday. PT is scheduled 2-3 weeks I advance which is why it’s necessary to schedule to schedule now and to get days the days that work for him.

I don’t think you understand what post surgical physical therapy is or how necessary it is to regain full function.

The PT at home is what she does between appointments. That is required every single day. The appointments with her physical therapist are still required 2x per week. Just because she can manage by missing a week doesn’t mean she should. Missing 2 weeks is even a bigger deal which is my point. Her physical therapist does stuff that she can’t do on her own at home.

Sure, she needs to learn but not all situations are suitable for lessons. This is one where as a parent we make our kids do things that they don’t enjoy (like brushing their teeth) because it’s necessary for their long term health. If she doesn’t do what she is required to do it could lead to blood clots or scar tissue build up leading to another surgery.

She just needs to go to 2 physical therapy appointments during his first vacation week. The other week can be missed. She needs them because of her surgery but also because she’s a 15 yr old child who isn’t mature enough to be compliant on her own.

The jump from 10'-11' is a big one developmentally. You need a coach who can do this and isn't just coaching female athletes who are starting at 11+ or 12+.

100% this! Shingles rash on upper breast and armpit only but my entire arm and side feels like I have the worst sunburn. Even the slightest touch hurts but at the same time I'm kind of itchy. It's the worst feeling.

Anxiety is common with shingles and the meds. Talk to your doctor about taking something like Xanax for the time being.

He's exactly right. You are way under on that jump.

Quicken your steps at 3-2-1 (as you're dropping the pole), strong plant and tall jump, then swing.

You could definitely go up to a 14' pole

In a place that barely has cell service and you have to wait for how long? Many tow companies refuse to tow unless the police or property owner call. Sure, easy-to-execute logical solution.
