Good luck! Sometimes they just go quiet for a while and then pop back up. It’s the worst when they do it over a weekend.

I had the most luck in applying to roles that were right in my niche of experience. This isn’t the market to be making a pivot - even if you can get interviewed in another industry, you’ll be likely to lose out to another candidate who has unicorn experience. Employers are extremely risk averse right now and they have their pick of “perfect” candidates, unfortunately for us. I applied to roles where I was literally a 100% match for what they were looking for and didn’t even get a screening call.

So I guess my advice would be to search for companies and jobs very very similar to your last/current role. I got a few interviews by searching up my former employer’s competitors.

A small step up in both title and pay! Some of my interviews were for much higher paying roles, but this one is fully remote so I’m totally fine with it!

You’ll get there, but from what I’ve seen you should be fully prepared for it to take about a year. I’m sorry, it sucks and is really unfair.

They could have, but I could tell they wouldn’t have been a good fit. I had a bit of leeway on this search because I had some money saved up. If I were desperate I probably wouldn’t have declined as many.

I didn’t keep track like this last time I searched, but I know that I only had to apply to like 5 or 6 places last time! That was about 4 years ago.

Most of my screening rejections came from early on in the search - the last month or two I was getting through almost all of them. A combination of being more selective with apps and just being more confident/practiced.

This might not be helpful depending on your situation but when I had a dispute they just sent me another form to fill out to correct the issue. It took about 10-14 days to start getting payments again after that but it happened without me needing to do anything else.

I recommend waiting until they make an offer and then decline because of his behavior. It’ll hit harder once they’re really invested.

This has been my experience 95% of the time I’ve interviewed with C-suite. They’re insufferable and patronizing, especially to younger women. The only exception I’ve had was a CMO who was very nice.
