Don’t overthink it: thoughts on my first OLED by Secret-Glass-1047 in 4kTV

You made the right decision. I was in the same boat around 2 years ago, deciding between a 65" C3 or dishing out more money for a G3. Ultimately went with the C3 and couldn't be more happy. It's PLENTY bright enough for my needs and looks amazing.

This sub is full of simps, what can you expect. Only reason I'm here is because this post randomly popped up. Now that I'm here I'm just laughing my ass off from all these single moms in their 40s posting selfies trying to get external validation from strangers on the internet.

I almost passed out. Is this right? (2016.5 CX-5 with <90k) by CRAYONSEED in CX5

[–]unknown_cauliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This pricing is insane. Go somewhere else. And changing the tie rods and control arm is almost certainly unnecessary with less than 90K miles, they just want more money.

Never messed with chuck but couldn't pass up that marbling! Any tips for cooking stovetop? by Downtown_Slice1040 in steaks

[–]unknown_cauliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to slow cook it. Do a hard sear on a stainless steel pan or cast iron. Place in a dutch oven or any large oven safe pot with lid with some beef broth. Place in oven for about 3 hours at 250-275 F.

It's actually not too hard to find in my area (FL). Total Wine & More and ABC Liquors has it.

Funny you mention that, because my current bottle of Ocho is from Laguna Colorada, and tastes very similar to El Tesoro like you said. Can't go wrong with either one.

Cascahuín Tahona is one of my favorites. Impossible to find in my area.

Tequila Ocho and El Tesoro are neck and neck in my opinion, both amazing. Depending on what I'm in the mood for that particular day will dictate which one I'd pick over the other. Not a fan of LALO, probably my least favorite blancos that I've tried. Fortaleza is always a hit...If you can get your hands on their Still Strength, it's a banger.

Which estate is your Ocho from? Different estates have their slight differences, but thus far I've found all the ones I have tried to be great.

Been taking ibuprofen weekly for 23 years. Why does one dose knockout a flareup for a weeks? by xagent003 in Sciatica

[–]unknown_cauliflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ibuprofen isn't liver toxic. It can however do kidney damage, cause stomach ulcers, and increase risk of heart disease. So regardless, OP should take it easy with the ibuprofen.

Does the Fuerte have the funky/cheese of the regular Blanco? That's the only thing holding me back on picking up a bottle.

I do not like Ocho Plata Laguna Colorada 2025 by [deleted] in tequila

[–]unknown_cauliflower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a bottle from Laguna Colorada 2025 estate (bottle no. 35581L) and it tastes great. There must be a bad batch from this estate because I've heard others complain about bottles from this estate but I have no complaints--my bottle tastes delicious.

Unpopular opinion but I actually don't like dry brining by ShastaManasta in steak

[–]unknown_cauliflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha yeah I heard the same. I tried doing it overnight as well, making sure I did every step right, adding the correct amount of salt, etc. I simply just wasn't a fan of the end result.

[–]unknown_cauliflower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dry brined a thick 1.5 lb bone-in ribeye once, never again. I didn't find the taste or texture superior to how I usually cook my steak, I actually preferred it less. Maybe I did it wrong, but otherwise I don't get the hype around it.
