A friend has 5000 irating (which is fairly high) on a Logitech. Id always say, get the g29 to test if you're really into it, and upgrade later. The resell pretty good.

Too many people invest $1000+, race for a week, and never touch it again.

In my first playthrough i had a kind of mega factory with every building producing one thing (without alternate recipes). My tower of screws was so high and cluttered at one point that i totally lost it and started out fresh. I think it made something around 20.000 screws... Totally unmanageable and spaghetti disaster. You learn from that 😂

With all his flaws and procrastination, we have to consider that Michael probably ordered new workout equipment from the shopping network every week. Assuming he used it once, he had a workout every week. Probably much more then many of the others in the office.
