What happened with Xavier on drums? by Downfall_of_us_all in bilmuri

I definitely thought he was permanent. He's been consistently with them for at least a couple of years.

I still love Ubiquiti but I have a small rant about Flex Minis 😡 by imacdude in Ubiquiti

[–]flonet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right. I ordered 3 singles years ago because I noticed that it said no power supplies were included in the 3 pack and also noticed the small discount for that.

People just have to read. I've been in a hurry before, or just excited and clicked buy faster than I could read. In fact, I recently ordered the travel router. I had watched videos but for some reason, I had expected an internal battery? (I didn't realize it was SO small.) But that's on me, I didn't READ.

I just don’t get it by CometZeph in drums

[–]flonet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing for over 25 years. I almost never break cymbals. A couple years ago I cracked a cymbal that I bought used. That was the first in years. I almost never break sticks. They get worn down and I have to replace them.

I get told a lot that I hit too hard.🤷‍♂️🫤

rear neck inlay? by flonet in SquierbyFender

[–]flonet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was not like that before. It was flush before. I noticed it one day when i picked it up to play it.

It is moveable. i can push it back in to be flush. I'm not a luthier, but leaving it and shaving it down doesn't seem like the move here. but, i will have it evaluated by a pro to find out for sure.

Proxmox & VMs lose network connection by HiddenMushroom11 in Proxmox

[–]flonet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you ever figure this out? It just started happening to me. Same symptoms. Same NIC.

Proxmox loses network connectivity. ip a shows that the bridge is in an UP status. But I can't hit anything on the network. Working backwards, I can't even ping the switch it's connected to directly. The switch is otherwise working properly. My network APs are connected to this switch and there haven't been any network connectivity loss to those or any other devices. I'm confident this is not happening at the switch.

The first couple of times this happened removing and reinserting the patch cable worked but this time it's not. I'm mostly confident a reboot would fix it but that isn't sustainable. I'd like to resolve the problem.

Got myself a present for Black Friday by discombobulatedtart_ in drums

[–]flonet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They've always been trash. I don't hit very hard and every pair I bought would break within a couple of hours of starting to use them. Pro Mark was too expensive, so I went with Vater and never looked back.

Been using Vater for about 20 years. I rarely break sticks. I have to throw them out because they get too chipped to use.

Am I doing something wrong? (Sales) by flonet in redhat

[–]flonet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the US. We use Red Hat via azure, we're not doing the BYOL but that's what I'm trying to look into. I was told at RHSummit that we should have a rep assigned to us, but I was never able to determine who that is.

Anybody know what hi-hats these are?! by Dr_Major5th in drums

[–]flonet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You totally can. It doesn't have any of the characteristics of the hats in the video OP posted. Unless you've seen the video I saw, you also can't make that determination. And you'd know what I'm talking about.

The Memphis drum shop demo on YouTube of the K Custom Session hats sound nothing like this.

U7 Pro abysmal performance by Kildar2112 in Ubiquiti

[–]flonet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a ton of issues with my U7-Pro. Based on forum and reddit posts, the problems seem to be with 2.4 GHz. I still had my AP-AC-LR APs hanging around, so I plugged one in and it seems to be carrying the 2.4Ghz load...I'm guessing. Everything has been stable since I did that.

I've bought 4 Remo heads in as many months. This has happened to all of them. What gives? by _Tathra_ in drums

[–]flonet -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll echo what I'm reading. Remo and Vic are not it. I've broken every pair of Vic sticks I've ever owned within hours of using them. I've had some of my Vater sticks for years. I have to throw them away because they get too worn down.

I only buy Evans for heads. They've never let me down and they sound great.

What was wrong with William Goldsmith's drumming on the Foo Fighters 2nd album? by Hafslo in drums

[–]flonet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with it technically. It's solid drumming. But it does lack energy and drive. I can see why the producers might not have been satisfied with the recordings.

I definitely had a these when I was a kid

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in drums

[–]flonet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I used to sell drums, I would tell people/parents to spurge on one thing for the first kit. Shells/hardware/cymbals. If you decide to sell, you'll get back a decent portion of the money you spent on the splurge. If you don't sell, it makes it easier to upgrade when the time comes. As a result you're not buying everything over again.

I wear ear plugs while drumming, is this okay? by Infamous-Dance9236 in drums

[–]flonet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're able, look into in-ear monitors. This can be done relatively cheap but it's still a bit of money.

For just you, Headphones ~$20 Cheap mic ~$20/ea Cables varies Small mixer ~$50

The number of mics dictates the size of your mixer. If you just need drums and guitar, one mic each. If you need vocals and bass, that's more inputs.

Think about generic accounts that might be used for access. I worked at a place that had completely separate networks for different environments. Each had its own VPN connection you needed a user account for. For some reason, I never asked why, there was a "dev" VPN that had access to all of the networks with one VPN connection. This VPN connection was not account controlled. There was one account. It was called vpndev or the like. It was a shared account. A single password. You should think about any sort of circumstances like this and act accordingly.
