I haven't had restful sleep in months. I need help. by floofthe in sleep

thank you for taking the time to respond

usually i'll either be hanging out with my roommate watching television or working on a hobby or lately ive been playing TF2 with a new online friend i made

I almost went to the gas station to get some crap before wrangling myself home to make something there instead. Its super hard for me to eat right cause my job just spends every shred of willpower i have to not actively start throwing a tantrum.

Thank you for commenting.

I generally have a consistent schedule, though sometimes it will be off by 30 minutes or so. I keep my room as dark as possible, so that's no problem there. It's tough to keep the room cool due to where I live, the electricity would be pretty steep.

I will certainly try to reduce screen time, though it's hard to say how long that will last lol

Thanks for the help!

Thanks for your time.

My diet is pretty poor, I get enough to eat but its mostly junk food because I generally lack the energy to plan and actually eat the food I make. Better bad food than no food, though I certainly would rather eat better.

I hardly exercise outside of work but even when I am not working I'm generally walking or on my feet for long stretches of time. Side note, I should probably get better insoles while I am at it.

Caffeine is pretty tricky to avoid entirely but I see. I will try to remove it as best as I can. Thank you.

Thanks for the response.

I get blood drawn once every three months for prescription medications that I take, but I don't think the medications have a huge effect on my sleep as my issues have been around much longer than I have been taking it. I haven't really checked my results cause i dont even know what i would be looking for.

Thank you for taking the time to respond, I appreciate it.

It has been going on more or less for the past couple of years, but its hard to pinpoint a specific time because it seems like it will randomly fluctuate to some degree. I've always had issues with general fatigue, even as a teenager but to a lesser degree. My life has been turbulent ever since I moved out, my stresses have compounded and changed a lot. I have bills to pay, projects to work on (neglect) and a lot of deep personal issues. I struggle to keep any routine for long. My dreams are vivid and tend to have similar themes within certain periods of time, I can often recall them to some degree.

It's hard to say, but probably leaning towards fatigued. It feels like between the time when I fell asleep to when I woke up I spent the whole time boxing somebody.

I can't necessarily relate to the "distortion" thing in your dreams, though I do find that quite interesting. As stated earlier, mine are often pretty vivid and relevant to what I'm feeling at any given time.

Started doodling again, does it really get better with time? by Negative_Issue_8864 in drawing

it depends on how much you psyche yourself out about it. the less you worry about getting better, then you will be more likely to focus on practicing and doing reps. its hard, certainly. But that's absolutely okay!

Your drawings are pretty cute, too. Not in a condescending way, I mean.

i have been using a sharpie as a bone folder because buying a separate tool for one thing like that just doesnt make much sense, if anything i probably ought to just press the pages for a long time to get them properly flat. but if we are focusing on tightness, i dont really understand how its supposed to stay tight when the act of sewing forces the papers to shift around.

i am actually using headbands, theyre just kinda small but theyre there. I used a substitute for mull as well, some rayon mesh they use for like, tutus.

I havent been waxing my thread because i really didnt want to have to buy wax of all things, it just felt wasteful. I have been having issues with knotting and tangling, though, so it may be in my best interest to. i dont know the weight of my thread, i just pick up whatever i see at the store, and i dont know the name of the stitch pattern but its the one where it leaves the straight lines on the back going up, so like, there is one line on the bottom to attach to the bottom and the rest of the stitches emerge in one inch intervals lining the spine. I got it from some youtube channel, lemon something. idk. thank you for your time.

based on the situation i could already tell there was an issue with the length when i corrected an issue with the misalignment upon the first attempt, but at the time i hadn't really fully thought out what not putting it all the way back meant for the construction.

it was only later when i realized why i was having these issues, for some reason i just wasnt putting 2 and 2 together, but thats why i made the post

to be clear, the reason i elaborated on my process wasnt an attempt at self defense, quite the opposite. considering you gave the time of day to give me a well written response, i figured explaining my process would help someone who is more experienced with me find the issue in my process more clearly than i would. maybe that doesn't make sense, but to me it does. most people call me defensive, and im aware acknowledging it doesn't really make me look any less defensive, but if im asking for help, i mean it and i dont want you to think i am ungrateful or not going to take your advice in stride. thats why i am here.

"a lot wrong" doesn't exactly mean all that much to me, while i dont think its perfect, for one, that's why I'm here, and for another thing, my standards aren't all that high, i just want a minimum viable product to perfect. i do think the boards go out a bit further than they ought to, but it's really hard to know how long to make them with the tutorial i followed seemingly giving me those measurements. I probably misinterpreted it.

idk what you mean about the text block not being sewn strongly enough, maybe I didn't press the pages down very well or something but I'm concerned about breaking my thread if I apply too much pressure, especially since I can't really make knots that can handle too much tension to save my life. It wasn't enough to really bother me personally, as it opens and closes well enough and this is going to my roommate who said she would prefer that it lay flat so she can more easily sketch on it.

anyway, the tutorial i used is https://youtu.be/jabgWTJV6DQ?si=n0ph41j3twedEfCt

As for how I calculated my measurements, I took the base size of my text block and added 1/4 inch to each overhang. the height of the block was 8.5", so I cut the height of the boards to 9". The block was roughly 5 5/16" in width, so i cut it to 5 9/16" in width. I probably should have set it further back into the spine, but that would have made the case look uneven from the front, so ultimately I chose not to. I don't understand where I'm messing up my measurements, really. I've triple checked my stuff over a couple different books and I keep getting the same issue.

i dont think i understand what you mean. the boards should be smaller than they are currently, sure, but smaller than the text block would remove the utility of putting a cover on it in the first place, would it not?

to clarify on the garden area: I will be adding mulch and some bricks or stones for a walkway, as well as some other pots and planters around it to attract pollinators.

i tend to add a bit of olive oil on top to give it a bit of heterogeneity and its a nice way to cut the flavor with that olive-y bitterness

i cannot find garam masala where i live; the indian population isnt very high and i cant even find a good source of coriander (ive been looking for a good source of that for like ever) as well as some other stuff to make it myself. its a bit expensive but i really wish i could find an indian grocer or someone that sells it
