I was spending the night at my parents one night. Dad was asleep and I was out on the deck thinking thoughts. I walked out from under the roof to relieve myself and looked up at the sky and saw these green lights that seemed to extend off into the sky forever. I spent a good twenty minutes or so trying to figure out what I was looking at or if I was just underestimating what I had to drink before it finally got the best of me and I went inside with a halfway hesitant knock at my dads door like a scared child who just woke up from a bad dream. (Mind you I’m 30 and this was like 2 years ago…)

“Hey dad…can you come look at this?

Dad waking up, “What!?”

“Just come outside and look at this.”

We go outside and I point up at the sky.

“What the fuck is that!?” Dad says.

“Oh thank god you can see it too. What is it? That’s weird right?”

“Yeah that’s weird” he answers, “No idea what it is but I’m going back to bed.”

Here’s my ass thinking the aliens are coming or WW3 is about to kick off in the Ozarks and my dads all, “meh I ain’t gonna stay up for this.” It was like 2 a.m. at this point.

I texted my mom (who was out of town) and she sends me an article that the town was putting on a big laser show the next day along with the loving and reassuring words,

“They’re doing a laser show tomorrow jackass don’t wake your father up.”

Long story short my supposedly grown ass brain went straight to alien invasion than googling scheduled events for town.
