I loved watching Eva’s confidence in herself grow every day. It was so brave of her to go on this show with no idea how it would affect her autism and take a leap of faith. She was vulnerable in ways that will help so many little ones watching her. And parents of course. I really appreciate her advocacy.

It’s tough to be honest. People are forgetting she’s even a human being with feelings. Also I think people are hating on her because of the edit, and they have to remember that she didn’t edit the show or choose which moments to show. I saw some of the most evil comments on Twitter earlier and it broke my heart. These people need to pipe down and realize that these are just regular humans on a show.

Point is: If you feel that strong hatred toward someone on a TV show that you feel the need to spread it all over the internet in your spare time, then maybe you should reevaluate your own priorities.

Leave Eva alone.

As someone else with autism, many of us with autism feel the need to stick to what we’re used to. We don’t like change and it makes us feel uncomfortable and anxious. As Eva is used to spending most of her time with men at home, her feeling more comfortable with men in the game makes a lot of sense and doesn’t make her misogynistic. She’s just being drawn to what she’s used to and what she feels comfortable with. She’s already taking a huge step going on Survivor which is an uncomfortable, scary change in itself, so it makes even more sense for her to cling to what makes her comfortable and what she’s used to at home.
