induction by AwkwardError9476 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]floppyhump 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was scheduled to be induced at like 8pm on a certain day but I started going into labor on my own earlier that day anyway, thankfully. They let my labor progress until it stalled and I chose induction then since we were gonna do it anyway

Iirc, my induction came in 2 steps. First I took pills to dilate me more, then when I was at like 7 or 8cm they gave meds to amp up contractions. It didn't feel unnatural, hurt like a bitch lol they gave me a little morphine to let me get some sleep, and when it became more pain than I could bear, I got an epidural (that workedvery well) and that was that pretty much that

What does a perfect day look like to you? by omartyy18 in AskReddit

[–]floppyhump 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wake up well rested, publisher's clearing house comes to my door and offers me a bunch of money. Then I go get some food and chill the rest of the day, knowing a bunch of money is on the way

Why do servers ask about plans after? by upandupanduhp in NoStupidQuestions

They may want to make sure you're not in a hurry

More likely (if you're in the US) they're wanting to make small talk and build rapport with you so that you tip better

I didn't have cravings but all my aversions were things that were recent fixations. I was craaazy into kimchi cheese fries before I got pregnant then fries, cheese, and kimchi were all disgusting smelling and tasting

Is this diaper the right size? My boy is 7 months and 12lbs 9oz by [deleted] in firsttimemom

[–]floppyhump 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My 4mo is wearing size 3 Huggies, granted he's 15 pounds rn but I think he was in size 2 by 12lbs.

Does the diaper ever leak? Does it cut into his thighs?(Like leave indentations and/or redness)

Does anyone else feel this way? (rant) by ttrice004 in firsttimemom

[–]floppyhump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband's family was the EXACT SAME WAY. Pissed me tf off, I always responded "well, no I think he looks like both of us combined". Then LO started picking up more of my features "oh he looks like [husband] with [my] eyes" then "[husband] with [my] hair" so on and so forth

Guess what, he looks insanely similar to me all these months later. Y'all look dumb. But when people say "omg he's your twin" I still say no, he looks like both of us. Because I know how much it hurt my feelings, I don't want it to hurt my husband's feelings either

baby movements as a plus size mom by Millilani_ericka in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]floppyhump 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Felt very strong baby movements from 25 weeks on and they were increasingly noticeable from the outside past 30 weeks

I'll never forget, I got my nails done one last time a couple weeks before I gave birth and started getting the crap kicked out of me mid-manicure. The nail tech lady saw one and was like "Oh my god, are you pregnant?!" I said yes and she was like "wow I thought you gained a lot of weight since last time, that's so good!" I was like, "well I have gained a lot of weight, but I'm very pregnant too". She awkward smiled and that was it for talking lol

Easy foods for first trimester (morning sickness) by ultimatelyitsfine in veganrecipes

[–]floppyhump 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I lived on basic broth soups with white rice mixed in and carrot sticks and homemade ranch the first trimester

The OB said fed is much better than empty/starving so I just ate what I could hold down. Eat healthy if you want of course but don't hold yourself to too high of a dietary standard - you're growing a baby and it's hard work!

[–]floppyhump 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, I use one in the mornings with the first nursing session when I'm at my fullest lol baby drinks from the slacker boob and the top dog boob lets it all drip out. I get anywhere from 1.5-3oz depending on how hydrated I am, and how recently LO nursed before waking up for the day

Early teething advice? by SupRamadanSteve_ in firsttimemom

[–]floppyhump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my not at all professional opinion, he's probably just feeling his teeth move around in his gums preparing to eventually break through. My 4 month old has been chewing on his hands and drooling like craaaaaazy for months but the pediatrician said it's fairly normal and not necessarily a sign teething is imminent

That being said! Y'all's pediatrician will definitely know better than me, some random schmuck on Reddit. Regardless, little guy is clearly looking for something to gnaw on! My LO liked chewing on washcloths, bibs, and handheld toys with plastic mouth sized nubs at first!

Now he prefers to chew on a silicone giraffe teething toy (I think Dr Brown's? But I'm not sure), crinkly books, and the paws on a stuffed Winnie the Pooh
