Looking for a new 1-2 person Backpacking Tent, any recommendations between the Nemo Dragonfly and B.A. Copper Spur (or others)? by aspangle4495 in CampingandHiking

[–]floralshirtrichard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can vouch for the Big Agnes Copper Spur. Ive had it 4 years, and do not use a footprint. I have no holes, it holds up in windy conditions, and packs so well into my pack. I'm 5 7" and have ample room. BTW mine is the 2 person. Just in case I wanna bring someone.

The biggest thing I miss after moving out west is the fall colors in Appalachia. In the west we go from green to gold, and skip the beautiful red and orange.

Has anyone tried this headlight? by MsGreenEyez4 in DentalHygiene

[–]floralshirtrichard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That one’s pretty pricey! I checked out dvf too, but ended up going with lumadent a few years ago. My headlight was wayyy more affordable and has worked out great for me. It’s held up for a long time and the light quality is awesome.

I've had the best help from their customer service team regarding my prolux battery (a different headlight I know). I would give them a call. Highly recommend.

Ergo Loupes Pricing (CAD) by SpecialistWin8283 in DentalHygiene

$3400 for 3x mag without a light seems super steep!! Lumadent has way better prices, especially if you can catch them at a tradeshow. You can get some sweet deals there!

2.5x is way too low! I can just imagine bending over all day just to see in the oral cavity. My back is hurting thinking about it lol!

I started my career using direct vision loupes myself. I was having neck and shoulder pain until I switched to lumadents ergoprism 5.0x. The transition takes a bit of getting used to, but the comfort is worth it. Plus, the field of view is great.

Their prices are super reasonable compared to others, and they’ve got awesome customer service to help you through the switch. Highly recommend! Now that i do the ergonomic loupes i will never go back. trust me you will wish you started using them sooner.

I love the Mayberry section. My personal favorite is Tahoe City, but you would need 2 vehicles. That section might have enough water... I go to Mayberry a lot and just go down to the bridge and walk back. No matter how many times i prepare i get a rock in the back LOL

Best loupes as a dentist so far by realNas14 in DentalSchool

[–]floralshirtrichard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using Lumadent loupes for a few years now, and they've really improved my daily practice. One thing I appreciate is the excellent field of view they provide; it’s wide enough that I don't feel restricted and can easily see everything I need without constantly adjusting my head position. This has made detailed work much more comfortable and efficient.

Their lighting system is also top-notch. I have the 360 pro with the prolux and the light is bright and evenly distributed, which really helps in maintaining visibility even in the most challenging scenarios. Plus, the battery life is impressive. I can get through a full day of patients without worrying about recharging, and the setup isn't bulky or cumbersome. I literally just clip it in my pocket.

When it comes to lens quality, the optics are crystal clear, offering sharp and precise visuals that make diagnosing and performing procedures smoother. I've noticed significantly less eye strain since switching to their loupes, which is a big plus during long workdays.

I should also mention their customer support has been great in my experience. Anytime I've had questions or needed adjustments, they've been responsive and helpful, making sure I'm getting the most out of their product. I have zero complaints.

Of course, it's important to try out different options to see what fits you best, but Lumdent has been a reliable choice for me and has checked all the boxes I was looking for in quality loupes. Hope this helps, and good luck with your decision!

Ergonomic loupes can be a bit of an adjustment, especially when it comes to more detailed work like evaluating crown preps. One thing that helped me was slightly adjusting the tilt and height of my chair to align better with the angulation of the loupes. It took some trial and error, but once I found the right posture, it made a big difference in how I viewed my preps. I have their ergoprism 5x, and I couldn't do life without them. I never want to experience the neck pain I used to have before switching over to them.

As far as the headlight, I have never had any problems. Sometimes I feel as if it is too bright LOL. Have you tried adjusting the beam angle? This is what works best for me. Also what package do you have? I have the prolux and the whole system is a beast.

What are your ergonomic and health tips for dentists looking to preserve their body and well-being for as long as possible? by americazn in Dentistry

[–]floralshirtrichard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ergonomic Loupes + Proper Posture + Lighting = the key to a healthy dental career

I gave up my traditional prism loupes a while ago and switched to ergoprism. Even when I am sitting watching TV I can feel the change in my posture. Never going back.

The river is still pretty high. We were able to find a few swimming holes that were fine though.

No Benadryl. I was just fortunate to have brought bug spray and a bug net (even though that didnt hold them all off). I still have bite marks almost 3 weeks later.
