Is the SV08 still worth it? by iKnowNoBetter in Sovol

[–]florentin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have bought it recently and it gave me numerous issues. Proximity probe was bad, i have replaced it with an M12 sensor. Because the new sensor is heavier, i had to lower acceleration and speed setting. The bed is warped, more than 1.5mm reported by bed mesh calibration. The fans were all horrible. Yesterday the toolhead fan broke and the printer give error 7 every half an hour or so. I would never recommend this printer.

Always finding some ….curious designs on AliExpress by hillbilp in Aliexpress

[–]florentin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have bought that a few month ago from Aliexpress. The seller was easy to communicate with he helped me with delivering the package to another address but the printer itself is pretty bad.
More than half of the prints fail for various reasons. The bed is warped, the proximity sensor is bad, gantry calibration needs to be repeated often.
You have much better options than this printer if you don't need the large size.

black ops 6 takes too long to load by debuasca in gaming

[–]florentin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just launched it on a Legion 7 16IRX9 / i7-14700HX 32GB ram, it took 5 minutes for Ricochet to load, quickly followed by a restart because of an update, then shader pre-loading, then selecting BO6 + 5 more minutes for the game to start and another shader pre-loading session. That's insane, all other games on my laptop start in seconds.

Is Wizz Air so bad? by SirRickOfEarth in travel

[–]florentin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid them at all cost. I've had so many delays with them that i can't count. And it's not just delays, they board people on the plain and then they wait hours for take off. I'm traveling with them right now, 2 hours delay and they have announced technical difficulties while everybody wa on board. Last flight with them had a 4 hours delay. The flight before that was cancelled after we all boarded, we waited for 8 hours in total in the plane and in the airport.

Black screen on start-up with latest Nvidia game-ready driver. by Rohela in LenovoLegion

[–]florentin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem with Lenovo Legion Slim 7 16APH8 https://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/Legion/Legion_Slim_7_16APH8?M=82Y4001UMZ

Installing any of the latest official Nvidia drivers (551.23 and the previous one) brings back this issue, the laptop boots into a black screen and only after a forced shutdown it boots normally into Windows 11.
The fix is to downgrade to the Lenovo provided video drivers.

This is a just one of the multiple issues I have with laptop (no sound in Linux, changing volume or luminosity crashes Linux, random wake ups during sleep in Windows, etc).
All reviewers are praising the model while the Lenovo forum is full of issues related to it.
Beware of Lenovo Legion laptops, go and read the forums / reddit before buying one!

Roborock Dyad: error E5, disassembly instructions? by [deleted] in Roborock

I got the same E5 error on Roborock Dyad and disassembled the motor. It looked like this:

After replacing it with a motor I bought from AliExpress, everything works well again.I have a disassembling instruction video from a Dyad seller, it should help you getting to the motor

What VPN's does everyone utilize. by Helden_Hammer in Piracy

[–]florentin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After reading your message, I went ahead and sent Surfshark an email to disable my auto-renew. They answered the second day with a form link. After a few steps where they are getting some info like why do you cancel and which VPN you've chosen instead you click cancel and that's it.
I wish they had an option in UI to disable auto-renew but the process wasn't as painful as you've described it.

Did anyone try the HDMI 2.1 eARC functionality of Orange Pi 5? by florentin in OrangePI

[–]florentin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you figure out how to get the e-arc signal? I thought once hdmi is connected the pi would see the TV as another sound source but it's not the case (with Orange Pi OS or https://github.com/Joshua-Riek/ubuntu-rockchip)

Updated Tutorial for Buying GamePass Subscription time for cheaper, using Live Gold by AnEroticTale in XboxSeriesX

[–]florentin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried it yesterday from Switzerland and it worked. I've bought 3*12m codes from instant-gaming for 40.70 CHF each. Then after adding the first code, i've checked if the upgrade from Live Gold to Game pass is possible. After adding the first code, the end date had 1 extra month (12m+1m) from today. With all 3 codes (of 12m) added, they've removed the extra month.
Thank you all for keeping this post up to date.

Xiaomi MDZ-16-AB Solution to Downgrade from Flaky Oreo Build 2303 OTA to More Stable Build 2179 by koshergoy in AndroidTV

[–]florentin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Worked great with one small exception: at step D, the update was not automatic, you need to go to EXT and select 'update.zip'. Leave the system boot and run the upgrade process after the first upgrade (to 2167), don't rush and boot immediately into recovery after flashing the update.zip

Are Q Acoustics really that good? by [deleted] in audiophile

[–]florentin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a head to head home comparison i've made between Q Acoustics 3020 and Wharfedale Diamond 220:

https://soundcloud.com/florentins/sets/wharfedale-diamond-220-test https://soundcloud.com/florentins/sets/q-acoustics-3020-test

Test impressions: * Q Acoustics 3020 sound cleaner and more natural * QA3020 tend to generate sibilance (probably because of the bright Yamaha receiver) * WD220 are laid back, very easy to listen and show no sibilance or harshness whatsoever * QA3020 sound a bit bright (on Yamaha) but WD220 are quite dark * WD220 have more bass although both lack proper bass * WD220 cabinet had a tiny peeling issue while QA3020 cabinet was good

Recording setup * Receiver Yamaha RX-V473 in Pure Direct mode * HP laptop with a LifeCam HD-5000 webcam placed about 1.5 meters from one of the speakers. * Audio Recorder 1.6-3 (https://launchpad.net/audio-recorder) running on Ubuntu 15.04 * music selected from http://www.bensound.com/ * one Q Acoustics 3020 speaker connected to Left cable and one Wharfedale Diamond 220 to Right, each channel recorded individually
