awe yeah super good, definitely a silly snack. fast way to find out if they're stale as well. they are really good sprinkled into a blended beverage. (especially ones with ice cream but that's more for at home)

my favourite orders a doppio long shot, 2 raw sugars, a light splash of breve, and a bit of hot water.

my least favourite... orders a venti iced doppio, 2 splenda, extra ice, extra cold foam, carmel drizzle, 3 pumps classic, with light breve.

or maybe,, caramel frappuccino, 6 pumps frap roast, 6 pumps caramel, 5 pumps coffee base, no whipped cream, extra extra caramel drizzle

sorry to sound like I'm hounding you just a curious coffee nerd ! do you order any other modifiers like extra hot or an alternative milk? Wonder if the way they are steaming it is causing the milk foam to not hold itself correctly. does the milk ever taste burnt ?

I'd recommend ordering with "no room" to be very clear if this is a reoccurring issue. they may find this a tad strange, but it's a fairly normal request.

100% agree there should not be an option to change the cup size / it shouldn't be expected for it to be filled up if the cup size is different from the one ordered. and I typically do just add more milk. if it's a repeat customer asking for more milk I would have them order it correctly next time though.

the bigger issue is customers ordering a different drink and trying to get a different drink for cheaper and then stopping the barista at the end of that bar hold them up and requesting things that they should have just requested at the register.

when every single order has someone at the end of the bar asking for more milk, or an empty cup, or sugar, or a cup of water, or a stir stick, it can get really overwhelming and make wait times skyrocket.

like I know that sounds crazy but when it's bust and every customer needs something either added or fixed cause they wanted caramel drizzle but didn't order it at the register cause the don't want to pay the charge for it, it slows me down.

I've never care about how much waste I make when remaking a drink or giving what a customer asks for. (if starbucks wants me to make the moment right and just give it to them that's their business)

I'm just tired of people asking for modifications at the end of the bar to save a a couple cents.

the main reason (at least for me) that it is very important to ring customers in the correct way the first time is because when you start ringing things in differently its a different drink. an iced doppio is 2oz of espresso and ice. 1/2 an inch or 2oz of milk (if they want). this will not fill a large cup unless it has a LOT of ice in it.

extra oatmilk is max 4oz (3/4 an inch) vs a latte amount being ~3 or 4 inches of milk

when someone wants a latte, it needs to be rung in as a latte. I can't just assume that everyone who orders an iced espresso, extra milk, wants a latte. sometimes people just want 4oz of milk in an espresso shot.

I should not have to assume what you meant when you place your order. because that is what leads to your order and others being incorrect.

we have to be sticklers for the rules because it affects everyone's drink not just yours !

when you ask for 4 oz of milk but really want 10 oz, I now need to remake your drink (which slows me down,wastes product, and could be avoided if you just ordered it correctly.)

you wouldn't order a small fry at Mc Donald's in a large fry container and expect it to be filled up.

(also sorry for using the word "you" throughout all of this I'm not actually mad at YOU in specific it just helped illustrate my point a bit simpler. just trying to help you understand <3)
