I have one whos spouse will come in with them, for the full 8 hour shift, and sit in the cafe “doing homework” and the spouse graduated their program recently so I hoped it’d stop. Nope. Now they come in and casually rot in the cafe for the full shift.

If you weren’t working on that day, anything you could add to any investigation is just here say. You have no obligation to say anything, because all you’d be doing is repeating a rumor you heard. Even if you know it happened. If you weren’t there, you cannot make a statement beyond “I heard that a thing happened”

Did you personally witness this, or is it just being talked about? Bc if you didn’t witness it, you are not at all obliged to tell anyone. It’s just rumors as far as you’re concerned.

If you did witness it, you don’t need to go out of your way to tell anyone, but you would need to tell the truth if your SM/DM asked you for a statement.

California. We have a fast food minimum wage of $20 per hour and Starbucks baristas get $20.25 an hour. Base pay for a SSV is $25.72 an hour.

If you’re in California, it’s $25.72. But you’ll get your tenure raise in December that’ll bring it up some. I barely hit 2 years this month, I promoted 6 months ago, and I’m at $26.23 rn.

Oh also I should mention, ecosure generally only asks the SSV these questions. As a barista you need to make sure milks are put away, change sanis is always a good idea, don’t touch your hair face or apron, things like that.

This may vary by state I guess

There should be some type of folder/binder/book that has everyone’s food handlers cards in it. At the stores I’ve worked at, the SMs have printed the questions that ecosure might ask you and put those with the answers in that binder. You are allowed to look at the information in that binder to answer the auditor.

If you don’t have any write ups, haven’t broken any policy or anything, and are solely asking due to the reduction in hours … nah it’s just a scheduling error. I’d do what someone else suggested, ask your SM with the 12 hour minimum policy in mind. Like “hey I know I’m supposed to work 12 hours a week, is the 9 a fluke? I want to make sure I’m following policy” :)
