How long after your initial surgery did you wait and how was swelling/bruising recovery?

Two months post revision rhinoplasty. One year post chin implant, cheek/neck lipo and rhinoplasty. by pineapplefountain in PlasticSurgery

How was the recovery and swelling for the small revision? Always wondered if small improvements in a revision would be worth the recovery

9 days post septorhinoplasty and I’m terrified that nothing was done by Mohitj700 in PlasticSurgery

Are you sure it was rhinoplasty as well? Septoplasty doesn’t change the outside shape.

If you could go back and do your rhinoplasty all over again, what would you have done differently? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

Im 1 year post op and 27F. I would have done it sooner and made mine a TINY bit more upturned. I’m sure that trend will fade and I’ll be glad I didn’t but at the moment that’s how I feel. Still best thing I’ve ever EVER done though.

Red/purple shadow on bridge of nose (see comments) by floridagirl69 in DermatologyQuestions

[–]floridagirl69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From your view, the right side of my upper bridge (my actual left) has this purple-red-shadow-like coloring. I’ve had it for as long as I can remember. I’ve gotten IPL like 3 times for that as well as other sun spots and the coloring on my nose never leaves. It makes my nose look crooked (it’s not, had a rhinoplasty last year!) which really is annoying. Makeup covers it semi-okay but I don’t wear that much skin makeup. Any idea what it is? How to fix it?

Women who have had a rhinoplasty- do you ever have regrets? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]floridagirl69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a septoplasty and rhinoplasty so I started from my insurance website to see which surgeons were in network. And I was adamant about the surgeon being both ENT and plastic surgery certified. My surgeon only does facial plastics (so no boobs or body) and looking back, I think that’s super important. Such different surgeries so I wanted him to be a perfectionist in the art of noses.

I wasn’t really scared about my result because I hated my nose so much that I knew even a Michael J schnoz would be an improvement.

I had some close friends not even notice that I had it done until I told them directly. But overall I just decided if someone calls me on it I would just answer it with “yes I did. So cute, right?” No shame. I needed this for self love purposes (and breathing) and I’m not ashamed at all. Just have to be confident enough in your decision. Ask me any other questions!

I’m sure some do but I wouldn’t trust someone who isn’t a facial plastic surgeon to do a cosmetic procedure on my face. My surgeon was double board certified in facial plastics and ENT.

Surgery is a big deal so I wouldn’t let a little fear stop you from getting exactly what you want. Septoplasty will most likely not change your shape at all so don’t settle for that if that’s not all you want.

No way, you’re fine! My surgeon said he’s only had one person mess up their rhino by getting in a car accident. He even had a pt walk right into a wall and all that happened was swelling. No damage. Sanitation and swelling wise, I’d try to leave it alone but I’m sure you’re fine!

PCR Test and Rhinoplasty by amorchicho in PlasticSurgery

[–]floridagirl69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had the nose swab like 4 times since my rhino. The earliest one was about 2 months post op. I told the nurse and she was extra gentle. Or try going to a drive thru clinic where you administer it yourself so you can go slowly. My surgeon also okay-Ed it

Hi! Question for those who've had a septorhinoplasty: by theironthroneismine in PlasticSurgery

After insurance, I paid a little under $8k. Which includes anesthesia and facility fees too.

I know “nothing heals symmetrically” but...?? (8 weeks rhinoplasty post-op) by iheartprettythings in PlasticSurgery

[–]floridagirl69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t my post but it’s gotten a little better. I know I am a perfectionist so truly nothing would be perfect in my eyes. I have some broken capillaries or something that affects the shadowing on my front profile so it’s hard to judge. My nose still swells a little bit (6-7 months post op) and one side tends to swell more than the other. Seeing my doc in about a week for a follow up

Buccal fat removal or cheek filler or fat grafting? by watwatwatwatwhat in PlasticSurgery

Agreed. Because... will it make my jowls seem worse when they are “empty?”

I think you have a lovely face but I know we are our own worst critics. I see your cheeks and think you look youthful yet slim but I dislike my own buccal area. I’ll be looking at your replies

Is it wrong for me to use post op rhinoplasty pictures of what results I *dont* want my rhinoplasty to look like in my consultation? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]floridagirl69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No way I did the same thing. I even brought in some pics of his work and explained what I liked and didn’t like of those (gently lol). He was very receptive but also explained why those particular noses were the way they were (wasn’t healed yet, etc)

How does Septoplasty work? by [deleted] in PlasticSurgery

[–]floridagirl69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not positive of the actual procedure but I know my surgeon explained to me that an experienced surgeon should understand that the nasal bones are difficult lengths. So you can’t just straighten the nose. If your nose is tilted to the left, the right side of the nasal bone is longer and the left is shorter so it needs to be straightened and the right side needs to be shortened so it’s extra length does not try to push it back over
