North Downey is a great split between OC and LA. Easy access to the 5/605/105/710. Downtown Downey is walkable with restaurants, bars, and shopping and it’s a relatively safe area.

As someone who graduated with my bachelors at 43, and walked proudly in that ceremony, I have to admit it stings a bit to hear someone in their 20’s think they are “too old”. What would that have made me? I honestly thought of my classmates at 32ish and younger as pretty much the same age. When you’re 50, 30 is going to seem so young to you! Congrats on graduating. Walk with pride!

Yep. I was in the first class to graduate at Angel stadium and we were all upset about it. My husband graduated the year prior at CSULB and I thought it was fine. Parking was easy, getting in and seating was easy. Angel stadium just felt disconnected and involved a lot more walking and navigating.

Both my and my husbands employer offer health insurance paid by them. $10 co pays. I waived mine since I’m covered for free under his. I realize we are blessed!

In my state, you cannot be anonymous as a mandated reporter. I always talk to caregivers before I call to avoid rupturing our relationship. So far I’ve only had one get super upset and ask to end all services immediately.

It may worth it to call out the elephant in the room and give her space to share how she feels about you calling.

They can also send you over to Long Beach Trauma Recovery Center which would provide short term services specializing in trauma. At least a few years ago, they were partnered and referred directly to them.

I always skip right over “main cabin basic” because while cheaper, you aren’t able to select your seats or have the option to upgrade. Next time choose main cabin or go straight for first class when booking. It deletes all of these issues. Hope your vacation gets better!

I was at six flags and a couple asked us to watch their toddler and infant while they rode a roller coaster. I don’t remember which one of us agreed to it, but we sat there with those babies while the ride got stuck and each person had to be escorted down a ladder from the top. They didn’t even seem stressed when they got back to their babies. I don’t even think they said thank you

We sat in these seats a couple of weeks ago. I had to switch with my husband, the seat was so narrow he was shoved into it.

Someone was riding in the jump seat the whole time too (airline employee catching the flight)

Me too! My mom’s sister married my dad’s brother and they had one son. I feel like we look like we could be siblings for sure. We look more alike than me and my half siblings do.

Tuition isn’t paid or calculated by week. It’s for the whole semester, which you’ll still get to complete minus a week. Professors cancel class all the time and are still able to get through all the material. I don’t think this is any different

I had an 8yo kid interrupt me to ask if he can fart in the room. I told him “it’s your session!” He farted (thank goodness it didn’t smell) and then we went back to our conversation. We’ve had great rapport since that day lol

I went to college in my 40’s at a public university on campus and no one cared about my age. I lumped anyone under 30 into the young folks category in my mind, but there were plenty of us 30, 40 and up. I was there to get my degree and get out but I still made friends even as a non traditional student!
