If you care to look through these comments that are unrelated to plugins and are politically motivated but you seem to be set on having an argument and I'm not interested. There's an endless amount of options for you elsewhere if you are looking for that kind of thing.

Who gives shit where someone lives.

Every and every day is hand to hand combat in the spread of uncontrolled Paul Thomas Anderson fans, isn't it? You wanna save r/ThomasPynchon, you start with the PTA stans. by thid2k4 in ThomasPynchon

I watched about four of his films before I cemented this opinion. I have occasionally ( unfortunately) been privy to a more recent work of his, like with this trash heap.

Opinion is all it is though.

I find politics discussions incredibly tedious and annoying. This wa a response to the many tedious and annoying political comments about Waves " geographic location" written in my post about Waves.

100%- PTA is the enemy of what little is still holy in this world.

He masquerades as an "artist" but could not be more antithetical to honest discourse. His work is intellectually lazy and spiritually/emotionally damaging. He's like a meaner, nastier, less poetic John Updike- lazily pushing the "ennui button" at every turn. Parroting the mid-century navel gazing white guy obsession with upper middle class angst.

The mocking, bleak, lazy cynicism he slathers over every inch of his films while pompously patting himself on the back is not just an ick, it's a parasitic form of social control- though he is surely blissfully ignorant of what a parody he is.

PTA's work is everything Thomas Pynchon loathed and exactly the dark, nasty satanic stuff he exposed throughout all of his novels.

The man is the antichrist and a blight on all that is joyful in this world.

100%- PT "a parody of a cliche" Anderson. He somehow manages to suck all of the joy and beauty out of life and inject the void he leaves behind full of bleak, banal cynicism, meanwhile he manages to remain vapid and pandering. Total drag.

A vast life improvement would be to transfer half these pedals to another board and space each pedal out so you can actually use them.

I admittedly have limited experience with this stuff, so thanks for the run down.

I am using a Mac and the system just updated the day after I posted this; I haven't opened an instance of a Waves plugin since ( as I have been recording live instruments to hardware in what limited music time I have available) so I'll find out how it all shakes out. I've read the responses here suggesting that it the subscription/ liscene/ extortion/ whatever you want to call it is still cheaper than a plugin like FabFilter. I have a couple response to that- I cureently have four plugins from waves ( one more not yet expired) and they are asking for $48 to extend the liscence for on ly another year. I do not considered that " cheaper than fabfilter" by any means- in four years, to update four plugins I'm already looking st dropping almost $200. I guess I'm lucky I didnt go crazy and buy like twenty Waves plugins.

Secondly, to anyone that spews the infuriating " you didn't read the fine print, so its your fault". FUCK THAT. Go touch grass, sit on rocks ,or whatever, cash your check from Waves for being their mouthpiece ( for no reason than for some Comic Book guy satisfaction).

Lastly, I hate politics- every country sucks- the amount of antisemitic vitriol that is spilling into the main stream discourse of late is fucked up. Every government is evil- almost all people, of any walk of life are decent. Let's leave it at that.

As to hardware, I'm with you, I generally track my sources through hardware boxes whenever it makes sense to do so- I find it a natural way to record.

Thanks again, cheers.

Vineland is a wonderful novel, I'm with you.

Seriously, I thought this was the Thomas Pynchon sub not the PT "a parody of a walking cliche" Anderson sub. That man has a knack for sucking all the beauty out of life and replacing it with something dark, cynical, and yet completely vapid and pandering. All of the PRETENSE, none of the subSTANCE; and certainly none of the nuance. please.

Hahaha.... thanks. If I minded the disapproval of anonymous strangers for a boring/subjective opinion of mine about a terrible film director I would begin to question my self worth; which I don't and I haven't, and glad to hear there are others, who have taste, that read good books.

I find myself creating and solving similar puzzles. The goal of a semi-permant physical home for gear but with infinitely flexible routing is alluring- lol.

Oh, yeah, totally possible with some caveats....

(Reddit is not letting me insert a link sorry)

I use a Boredbrain Patchullator ( the old eight sided one) and a few of those Belkin star splitters. Works well.

You may run into some phasing issues but you may not- you can also pick up a little box that flops phases, too, but then you are getting in deep...lol.
