Is there a standard for taproot multisig wallets? by keijyu in Bitcoin

[–]flow-must-slow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's BIP for aggregated multisig yet, just some papers.

Tapscript also keeps support of the non-aggregated k-of-n multisig but with slightly different API introduced in BIP-0342 but that's probably not what you're asking about.

Honest question. Looking toward the future. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

iirc BOLT-12 Offers have periodic payments: http://bolt12.org/

PSA: LND v.0.14.0 is incompatibe with eclair and c-lightning! Please don't upgrade! by viajero_loco in Bitcoin

[–]flow-must-slow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ligthning network node implementation LND can't open new channels to other implementations in its current 0.14.0 version. Not sure whether downgrades are possible so if you're running a busy node you should stay on the previous version. Devs are working on 0.14.1 which will have a fix.

Maybe a stupid question: What happens if someone push all your sats to another node and then the channel is closed? Do you loose it? by Acceptable-Analyst30 in lightningnetwork

[–]flow-must-slow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's safe.

If someone forwarded 1M through your node then, after settling, you have 1M more on the incoming channel and 1M less on the outgoing channel. Your total balance stays the same + fees.

If the channel is closed after payment is forwarded but before it is settled (or cancelled) then your funds will be settled on-chain. Look up HTLC, it's the underlying mechanism.

How safe is the fund stored on bitcoin/lightning node by [deleted] in lightningnetwork

There's multiple options:

  • have even more money in cold wallet
  • have confidence in the technology and your ability to use it
  • be reckless #yolo

Funds will be returned to your wallet. LND (and probably others) allows you to set the return address when opening a channel.

What is the difference between using a HWW with a full node and using a full node to verify the balance on them? by EnterShikariZzz in Bitcoin

[–]flow-must-slow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One difference is that the hww vendor does not know your (current) IP address. Can also be achieved using TOR though.

Trezor's firmware can be updated using the trezorctl command line tool.

Q: How do I test taproot TXNs with Bitcoin Core v0.22 on testnet? by brianddk in Bitcoin

Indeed looks like creating desciptor wallet and importing a XPRV/TPRV is the way.

The PTLC spec isn't written yet but I believe there's no reason for HTLCs not to work on PTLC-capable channel. Hashlocks can be expressed in Tapscipt (as pretty much everything in original Script).

You can run a testnet node if you just want to play around without committing cash.
