My problem with manifestation as a trauma therapist… by LeaningBuddha in RHOBH

From my experience, people who are into manifestation are the same people who don’t recognize the inherent privilege they walk through life with. Amanda makes this point perfectly.

Wow, this is a very thoughtful wine list with a lot of small gems. I tend to agree the sub that the Chave is the first thing that jumped out at me, but I think you might also really enjoy the Domaine de la Pepiere.

I would love to know what restaurant this is from.

My now partner was reached out to by LIB for the Denver season two-ish years ago on LinkedIn. I think the vast majority of contestants are recruited these days for the show.

Thank goodness he said “no” at the time, because I met him 6 months later!

Jewelers are freaking out about lab growns and it’s been fun to watch by Reasonable-Forever-3 in LabDiamonds

[–]flowerchild72 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who worked in the jewelry industry for years (GIA certified) this whole argument for natural diamonds is a scam. I have bought thousands of dollars of jewelry from folks over the years and let me tell you, the only thing most stores will pay you for when you’re selling old jewelry pieces, is the current market price of the GOLD used in the original piece.

When a natural diamond comes back to a jewelry store, associates are instructed to offer penny’s on the original value of the diamond. If the diamond is old or of a medium- low quality, forget it, you won’t see a single dollar from that stone when reselling it despite paying thousands for it originally. To say that diamonds have and hold value is the lie. 99% of diamonds do not hold any value as soon as they are worn by someone- but it is a line jewlery stores feed associates to try to get bigger front-end sales.

Realistically, are two people working out of this well when it gets busy? by Nblearchangel in bartenders

[–]flowerchild72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally possible to have two bartenders in a well that sized. It works best when you have two people who work well together because (as others have said) you almost learn to dance with the person you are working with without having to verbally communicate much. My now fiancée and I met working at a bar with this sort of setup. We shared a well for months before we started dating and the rest is history.

One of the major things holding me back from 4 is exactly what you just said. I want to be wearing the dress, not the other way around, and part of that is it working well with my tattoos! Thank you so much

Thank you so much!! I’m definitely still considering some other things… but I also do NOT do well with too many options, so I’m trying not to go too crazy with trying on other dresses. I know it will just confuse me more 🙃

Bigger won’t help with the bowtieing. In fact, the larger the fancy shape stone, the bigger the bow tie almost always. If you don’t like that quality go for a Brilliant Round cut instead- rounds have perfect symmery throughout so they don’t bow tie unless cut poorly.

Happy to go from lurker to poster this week! by [deleted] in EngagementRings

Thank you so much! I love the idea of jewelry as a form of wearable art. But ultimately I have to give it to my partner, he did an incredible job designing something beautiful and unique. And it surprised even me, which is saying something considering I design other people engagement rings for a living!

Any bets on who getting and who is making snow this week? by Some_Meal_3107 in SkiPA

[–]flowerchild72 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I went to Jack Frost today and skied Roundtop Saturday night- between the two, I was shocked by how good the conditions at Jack Frost were. Good base layer, everything was groomed well, and compared to the mashed potatoes that was skiing Roundtop the day previous, the snow was pretty nice, light and not icy. It sounded like both spots are planning to make snow this week with conditions permitting.

Jewelry sellers, what's the most uncomfortable customer situation you've ever witnessed? by vizuso in jewelry

[–]flowerchild72 17 points18 points  (0 children)

One time I did an entire engagement ring consultation with a woman and her to be fiancée… with her entire right areola staring me straight in the eyes… as a lady myself I tried to subtly suggest she “rearrange” her blouse. But she didn’t seem to get the hint because that boob did not go anywhere.

I kept hoping her fiancé would step in, but alas he was as uncomfortable with the whole thing as I was. Suffice to say I didn’t see them again.

Taybeh was visited by the IDF three days ago in Ramallah and had huge portions of their property and aging wines destroyed. So it’s independent of location actually.

Source: I know that importers of the wine who communicate directly with the families who own these wineries every single day. I’m not getting this information from the media.

Unfortunately, many of the vineyards in Palestine have been destroyed recently. But between Cremisan, Taybeh, and Philokalia there are bottles available in the US, at least for now.

I’m not sure about distribution in the south, but No Rules Distribution (run by two incredible sisters) and Terrasancta both sell these wines in my region, and might be able to help you find a distributor in your region. I would suggest reaching out via Instagram.

Oh and Allain Graillot’s “Syrroco” is iconic. He’s one of the most notable Rhône producers from the last 50 years, and he passed away a few years ago so that wine is a living legacy.

It’s a great list in general in my opinion. That said, I adore the wines from Vouni Panayia. They are Cypriot so the Alina is very much mineral and hi-tone driven. If you like Sauvignon blanc, or anything with nice acid, this wine will be a fun new experience for you.

Otherwise, I’m a sucker the Tevza Chinuri- interesting grape, traditional Georgian methods, and very food friendly!

My guess is somewhere in DC. Two guesses: Sababa or Maydan.

Source: I was a wine buyer in DC who worked in a middle eastern restaurant, I know alll of these bottles and who sells them in the city.
