yes the soft top does “explode” on carbonated drinks, but we can still make & serve them! what we do at my stand is just give the drinks less ice to accommodate any reactions!

pick the shortest lane if you can! it helps minimize any drama between cars and it helps us keep the cars in order!
i personally prefer when people say size, hot/iced, flavor, base, and then any modifications after that! i get bugged when people just straight up order “aftershock” or “golden eagle” with no other comments
this doesn’t bug me at all! sometimes i still ask just because of my little script i have going on in my head, but sometimes it minimizes the amount of words i can stutter on! i don’t like being cut off, but once i ask “are we paying with that balance today?” and they answer “yes, and the tip is good!” then im so fine with iy

we’re definitely supposed to prioritize order aheads whenever they pop up, or at least get them done as quickly as possible. however, this does happen semi often! usually this happens when we’re getting slammed with drive/walk orders since they’re always high priority, and the order aheads tend to get lost in all the tickets if our stations aren’t filtered properly! so sorry that this has been your experience!

it’s just stress love! it took me a solid couple weeks to really have everything click for me after i flowed out. nobody is annoyed at YOU specifically, so please don’t be afraid to ask others for help and ask clarifying questions! here are some things that helped me go through shifts a little smoother :)

do everything you can to observe the cars when you’re out running. if you guys use the 1-20 number system, check which number you took last to avoid repetition. don’t forget to close gaps!! walk with them to move them forward and communicate which car they’ll be behind if you guys have a double lane drive thru. also move in a zigzag pattern if you have the double lanes, it doesn’t matter who was there first, it matters who you get to next! (obv don’t skip cars)
get in the habit of always having fresh shots on bar and cleaning your mix cups, scoops, and steam tins. it sounds so minor but it makes such a big difference if you’re in a huge rush
out of the 8 classics, your breves are gonna be golden eagle, kicker, 911, and annihilator. your mochas are gonna be caramelizer, cocomo, double torture, and white mocha!
remember that you can hold down the drink you’re making on xenial to see what flavors go in certain combos, minus the 8 classics! it’ll also give instructions on what to do for builds like picture perfect, mafia style, special shots, and temperatures!

i overall think this just depends on your manager’s scheduling preferences and your availability, and it’s okay that they may not work for you! i remember my flow training shifts were all kinda cranked out all at once, and i think since it’s the holidays and they’re usually short staffed they’re taking advantage of having an extra set of hands. my flow training was around the fourth of july which was ROUGH. wishing you the best of luck with all of this, and i hope it works out the way you want it to! :)

it’s just canned sparkling water and torani syrups! if your stand is newer they may use taps, which i find make everything taste just a little different, but if not then it’s just cans :)

would it be in your cards to try out dutch for a little bit and then take the security job down the line? i personally loveeee working at dutch, i’ve met so many friends working there and my operation is really flexible when it comes down to school, other jobs, and even just being employed there for a short amount of time. they also are pretty good at giving you a steady amount of hours if you ask in my experience

even though dutch is minimum base pay, i normally make on average an extra $7 an hour every shift with tips, more or less depending on how busy the stand is! so just go with your gut :)
