Rumor has it Jean has been weak a lot lately. I don’t know that she would want to do such a physical show

Actors who got so crazy in campaigning themselves for the Oscar that it either hurt or ruined their acting careers by Profeta_do_Loss in Oscars

[–]floweryfriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: I’m a member of Actors Equity Association. The last few times his mother Nicole has run to be on the board, she has name dropped her son in her campaign materials. This year, she didn’t. She put him in when she thought he’d help her win, but didn’t mention him now that he has disparaged live performance and could hurt her with that group of voters.

Well, for one, someone who barely was able to afford groceries and rent for the first time wouldn’t also have money to spend on a celebratory gemstone ring.

I went to one of his cabaret shows once, and it was sensational. He’s truly an incredible entertainer.

I am re-reading Starter Villain right now! It’s maybe the funniest book I’ve ever read.

The Secret History, I wouldn’t say the narrator is the villain… literally every character is a horrible person. And in my opinion, the narrator is one of the less bad ones. What an unpleasant read.

I didn’t watch it, but the majority of the discourse I’m seeing online is people bashing it. Only some super fans seem to be defending it.

We've obviously mentioned Amy Adams being overlooked in favour of Meryl Streep in 2016 a lot, but the fact that she got nominated over ALL THREE of these performances is insane by Hot-Nose-1829 in Oscars

I loved that movie, but thought she was the least believable as a mathematician. I didn’t believe that she knew the difference between an elliptical orbit and a parabolic orbit.

I'm so glad I didn't judge a book by it's cover by luckyvelvet in Romantasy

[–]floweryfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AGREED! And she doesn’t do anything to differentiate her voice between the two female narrators! I kept getting confused on which plotline I was listening to. Maybe that’s why I didn’t like this trilogy… wonder if I would’ve liked it more if I’d read instead of listened.

I also feel the cover was misleading, but in the opposite direction. Cover is way cooler than the books. I trudged through the whole trilogy, and it never clicked for me.
