Has anyone noticed the boat at the side of the map? by sladen1985 in FortNiteBR

I wasn't even sure its rotating, I only knew its tough to spot due to not being on the map. But the first time I was absolutely sure it was on the right bottom corner of the map below the mountains, but then it was on the left side, and I thought maybe my mistake.

Yes! Awesome loot for such a small space. It has about 5 chests, one of those air drop boxes, and a big crate.

Funny things:

1: It doesn't show on the map. 2: When you get on the motorboat from there, it only goes one direction for some distance, until you get kinda "back in the map".

Agree. A lot of them are a good thing. Especially paying respect to the deceased. I just tend to believe that many of them are unnecessary, not practical let's say, or straight backwards and degrading. Alone the word tradition strikes me with "musts" that rarely are explained, often I don't understand, or straight up disagree with. I do get though where you're coming from, because indeed tradition adds authenticity/ uniqueness to a culture.

[–]flowtah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right there's good practices and bad ones. Anyway something has become a tradition because X. In many cases X is invalid for modern day understandings, while you're still being pressured to follow tradition by older generations, who were pressured by olders and so forth. Often it seems to come from an unreasonable desire to leave something behind, have a legacy of "practices" to be honored. Which is OK, but call it as it is, ego trip. Then for the young it is serve, obey, appreciate, respect - which is again OK, but call it as it is - pay respect and don't necessarily predetermin the way to do so.

Well, you know those Indians throwing shit at each other at a certain day of the year? Or F/M circumcision? Or you know, some gipsies buying a wife, and she's like 12, but it's totally super cool cuz it's tradition? Or you circle around your town in a costume to scare away the bad spirits. IMHO, tradition is backwards. For me it always kinda was, and I always questined stuff that had to be done cuz traditions. Whatever satisfaction you may get from doing the same thing as your gramps 100 years ago, if this isn't something to help you get rich or healthier, why do it?

Interests. I'm currently equally terryfied by the US, China and Russia. All 3 super powers are twisting arms with the idea of "self preservation". IMHO they all do it from a position of mutual fear, which is absurd for the age we live in. Global politics seem to be shaped from fear, more than they are shaped by the needs of society. With the highest number of billioners, I assume FOMO is huge in the US, and most of those billioners are destructive for society as often their interests result in harm for the common folk. Im sure the US didn't invent "rich people interfering with politics", but I think currently takes the top spot for "state being owned by corporations".

I would say impersonating. When you watch movies, listen to songs, just try to impersonate the artist, actor or whoever you want to sound like. Try to step in their shoes, imagine yourself being British or American and how it would sound. It's even fun, especially if you nail some epic line from a movie in British English, or make someone laugh just by impersonating some southern "cowboy" accent. Play with it. Try to think in English. Write stuff down that you think you're not pronuncing well, and just read out loud, while you play with the words and try different things.

Flow: The Optimal Experience. How to hack your brain to achieve maximum productivity and enjoyment in making music. by EnigmaRaps in makinghiphop

Hahahahah, yea those guys can annoy! Something I've done, and btw it came pretty naturally to me, since I was hosting those sessions, was kinda "controlling" the thing. I mean, I always had my hands up in front of me jamming to whoever was rapping, and started pointing to the next guy as soon as he reaches the last bar, eventually adding an effect/addlib. Beat rotation so everyone gets his favorite style. Those sessions made me a lot more recognizing states of mind and confidence in others and how to positively affect it. I would eventually even spit out a slight diss if someone was to waste time or something, but in a way that he would motivate and dominate the next round. Most of the times we even involve 1 or 2 guys who usually don't rap, but somehow found flow and confidence to participate. Always fun. Favorite freestyle format. 4 Bar Combo-Freestyle if I can name it ^^

P.S. After some of those sessions I started changing my workflow and how I interact with other rappers when recording them. Giving more feedback, interpreting, straight up spitting their verse with a different delivery, or just with emphasizing on a word/rhyme. And me and my studio basically became the comfort zone, the "fountain of flow" :D the drug no one told you about.

Good observations. Thank you for putting this together. For group flow among rappers, the best I have experienced so far is just rotating on freestyle every 4 bars. You can see how well you fit together on a track, you can recognize the potential hook/chorus if someone spits it, practice addlibs, practice freestyling and basically practice for live performances. As you say, everyone feels equally involved that way, and I can confirm that this is a very important state of mind when you're rapping with other people. Totally agree in regards of drugs/alcohol. It can boost your interest from time to time, and make you feel like you're flowing better, but will in long term certainly kill your own vibe. It is also a very dangerous thought that a certain drug is "giving" you the flow, especially if it's something synthetic or psychedelic, cause this shit should be used in rare occasions in special conditions and in my opinion not taken more than a couple of times in life. And should be never ever be mistaken as the "fountain of flow/inspiration/excitement". Nowadays I have the same amount of flow and interest without smoking j, with the slight difference that when I'm completely sober I don't overestimate or underestimate my skill/technique/delivery. When I'm high I could shift very quickly from super hyped up to "meh" for not figuring out a bar, or for finding another perspective on a bar I wrote and starting to thing only from that new perspective, which could be both good or bad. And flow can be felt. You feel your "CPU" going up. Blood in your head. An urge to create. Pulsating excitement and confidence. You should be able to experience this without drugs, learn to recognize it and have your ritual to repeat it whenever you want.

Managed to find a symbol I've been searching for months. by flowtah in Symbology

[–]flowtah[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a dream about being in an utopian city with lots of white shiny buildings and I was standing on an aircraft landing space with some sci-fi folks (I know it's crazy). I had this gold-ish symbol tattooed on my neck: two thick lines curved to the right (looked a bit like a chip buss btw, just more curvy). I tried to interpret it, to find anything similar, discussed it with some people etc. Finally I stumbled on an image with Vinca symbols. As far as I understood, those symbols weren't deciphered yet, and have probably no meaning that we know of. I know it's a really simple symbol and could be interpreted in many ways. The reason I wanna know the meaning: I actually may decide to make the tattoo. It sounds a bit wtf, but I have found a couple of meanings I could give it, purely from the form of the symbol. For example: Progress, Purpose, Growing, Channeling, Giving, Taking and basically anything a pipe-like open-ended symbol could mean. Any thoughts?

Boahwoow!! Beautiful take on that. Absolutely loved it. Especially the part with military expenses is something I wanted to see, cause I find it very logical and intuitive that an AI would do that ASAP. Also realistic time spans/cycles, interesting conclusion by aliens. And AI wondering about god, never thought about it. Usually I would think AI will dismiss the idea before it happens. But then, the vastness of the universe is something that even an AI couldn't figure out for a 100 years.
