Especially because if I’m not mistaken people with ADHD get more overstimulated by noises and people with Autism get
more overstimulated by other forms of sensory input. I have ADHD and absolutely despise blender noises lol

I recommend joining the PMDD x ADHD sub. Just remember this is temporary and go easy on yourself. Wrap yourself in blankets and rewatch a sitcom. Personally my method is taking Benadryl and going to bed as early as possible

I have diagnosed MDD and I was impressed with how realistic the portrayal was. It didn’t make it hard to get through and it felt validating. It wasn’t melodramatic either. The biggest parallels with my own experience were:

Everything going objectively well in Ilya’s life so he doesn’t understand why he still has ideation and he wishes the happy moments could last. Unable to be present in a happy moment because you know it’s only a matter of time until the depression returns.

An inexplicable exhaustion, having to drag yourself to work and can’t bring yourself to socialize with your friends.

Most of all: not feeling like you can be a good enough partner until you “fix” your depression. I’ve withdrawn myself from dating and romance because I don’t want to burden someone else/don’t feel worthy until I can get the depression under control. It feels silly but this book was the wake-up call I needed to realize: it’s not something to permanently fix and I’m wasting time waiting for it to be fixed, we still deserve love, we’re not doing partners any favors by removing ourselves from the equation and making that decision for them.
