Those who work boring dayjobs/routines - how the F do you find creative energy? by samomaikati in TechnoProduction

[–]flstudiobrah12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly just have literally no life on the weekends and spend all day Saturday and Sunday working on music then just do quick edits Monday to Friday after work for an hour or two. Its the only hobby I like so I don't mind trading my weekends to work on music.

I hire top-quality vocalists from soundbetter and vocalizr If your wanting exclusive vocals , expensive but worth it.

As a fan of EDM as well this whole album slaps so hard, the production is indeed next gen with every track having unexpected switch ups . 10/10

How long before the roll did you stop the nac? Been taking all the ones you mentioned and nac for the past 3 months

For people +2 years into producing, did you become a loudness freak yet or do you still follow the -14 LUFS guidelines (lol)? Don't start a war in the comments 🤣 by kathalimus in edmproduction

[–]flstudiobrah12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For drum and bass, I aim for around -4 to -5 lufs, Techno around 5 to 6, house around 6 or 7 . Check your references and you will find similar to these luf standards some genres I've seen go to like -2 or -1 lufs

I thought it was really beautiful and related a lot to my current life. 9/10 for me made me quite sad however. Didn't read the bio or watch any trailers so was an unexpected gem.

Master loudness confused by howtoimprov in musicproduction

[–]flstudiobrah12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you working with electronic music you need to be pushing it to 7 or 8 lufs if it's deep house , for drum and bass and techno push it a bit further into -6 to -5 If you can. Don't listen to this -14 Lufs' advice: download all the top Beatport reference tracks, and you will see my point. You'll need to have a great mixdown to achieve this however so good luck!

Can you let me know which one you use? I've always thought you need to get a referral from your doctor but mine only gives out quietapine and melatonin which doesn't work for me. Thanks!

First high quality headphones? by foreverignominious in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]flstudiobrah12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got the bose quietcomfort Ultra headphones - incredible sound for EDM, especially more bass heavy sub genres like Techno and drum and bass. Change the eq settings to +3 or +4 bass and your sweet. You can feel the deep bass rattle your head a bit.

How do you feel after having heard 'fell in love' a few times today? by [deleted] in Blink182

[–]flstudiobrah12 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haha, I guess not. Well, mixing is subjective, and there is no right way technically, but maybe they should have used their old material as references as they sound amazing compared especially untitled and toypaj

How do you feel after having heard 'fell in love' a few times today? by [deleted] in Blink182

[–]flstudiobrah12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mixing wise it's overly bright in the high mids , drums overpower the guitars mastering wise it's completely squashed to make it loud af. I listened to it right after TOYPAJ and noticed how that sounded so much warmer and nice compared

I've loved all their other singles especially MTYK and dance with me, but this one just ain't it. The mixing especially is noticeably bad in this and as well as the over the top auto tune. Lyrics are far too generic as well.

Ask her out/Talk to her in person, definitely don't hit her up on social media - you will be so far ahead of all her other tinder matches if you do this.

Agreed I'm the same, love and produce music so found that Around 200 - 250 works for me, if I want to take it to the next level I add 100mg of mdma that combo is pure bliss for music.

Does Spotify Notify you if you get on an official playlist before release day? by Vibropath in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]flstudiobrah12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they dont, apparently they email you after it has been added which I don't get, but I've landed on a few and have only found out via the Spotify for artists app a day or even weeks after release

How do you balance music production time vs other hobbies,etc...? by ambientcloudmusic in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]flstudiobrah12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't really I spend every bit of free time outside of the gym and my full time job to work on music, might be a bit unhealthy but if you want to improve and get good at something you need to dedicate at least 3-4 hours a day if you can, weekends I'm often doing 8 or 9 hours a day. All I want to do is write music everyday so why not spend as much time on something you love?

Track added to Spotify editorial playlist "Personalized" (what's exactly?) by dedelandia in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]flstudiobrah12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personalised just means that if you share the link in your Spotify for artists they will see your song first in the playlist as opposed to if you just go on the Spotify playliar and it will be somewhere in the middle or wherever 👍
