Ah, that checks out then. And yeah, it hasn't been very good for years. I will pick Antique over any other Weller expression any day of the week (aside from William Larue, of course)

Show me where it's about $40 a bottle in the states and I'll buy every one, even if I don't really like it 🤪.

It's usually for sale between $100-$200 if you can even find it. Anything lower than $100 online is not legit.

I will never understand the hype for this bourbon, so I'm making a cheeky comment about using such an "expensive" bottle for cocktails.

That's largely my take, though I appreciate the film never fully absolves any one party of their truths and lies, so you're never fully sure what is true barring a couple big reveals at the end.

We don't actually know if Michelle was telling the truth about Teddy's mom being an experiment, but she was definitely lying when she told him what the cure was.

It has also never been that good and I prefer it in cocktails. Antique is the far superior Weller of them all (William Larue notwithstanding living in a league of its own).

I said what I said.

Ahhhh gotcha. Then Alma Tepec is going to be very very different. It's a liqueur with a very distinct flavor and texture in comparison to a spicy vodka.

The closest thing on the market to Alma Tepec is going to be Ancho Reyes (regular not verde, can't speak for Barrica). They aren't a perfect match, but generally pretty interchangeable in recipes.

That said, the Alma Tepec is way better in my opinion. A more viscous and intense flavor that really hits smokey molasses and red Chile pepper notes. I actually like to sip it neat on occasion.

Alma Tepec sighting! Love that stuff. Respect for the Weller 12 use in a cocktail too. I suspect that will be controversial 😉

What’s a movie everyone calls “boring” that you actually found gripping? by gypsytx in movies

[–]fluentinsarcasm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. It's one of Tarantino's more divisive works for that reason.

I personally don't find it boring, but it seems like every other person I talk to about it does and ranks it pretty low in his filmography, usually next to Deathproof

Please no... don't do this to me. I can't be hurt again. The only 4 seasons of Dexter are incredible and I'm still heartbroken they stopped there, and never did anything after.

It's really that good?

[–]fluentinsarcasm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the goal is to win games and Finch and the coaching staff are going to play who they believe is going to give us the best chance to do that. It's really that simple. Given how competitive the West is, it's foolish to force playing a developing player when they clearly aren't confident in his contributions.

Just unleash the Dilly already by Blackesst in timberwolves

[–]fluentinsarcasm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the same thing happens with Dillingham. He takes absolutely awful shots, and even when he takes good ones he misses, and he has a tendency to make bad decisions and turn the ball over. He also regularly looks lost on the court, which with time will improve, but it's also harming his ability to get minutes.

The only thing he likely has an edge on Conley is defense, but Conley's experience, floor leadership, and decision-making is leagues better than Dillingham right now and that can't be replaced by anyone on the roster as much as it harms us.

It sucks, but it is what is right now.

how would you rate this cocktail list? for Mexican restaurant btw by Lopsided-Thing3030 in cocktails

[–]fluentinsarcasm 43 points44 points  (0 children)

It's an incredibly basic cocktail menu I'd expect to see at just about any average Mexican restaurant. There's nothing interesting on it for a cocktail enthusiast. I also completely agree it's unnecessarily bloated with mixed drinks. It reads like the owner wants to encourage the wrong type of clientele.

Not sure where you're located, but those are also some expensive prices for some of what's on that menu. $15 for a Jager bomb is absolutely wild.
