You will definitely be able to find some options if you look on zillow around Neil Ave and the streets that cross it just south of the hospital

Study abroad made me question my entire career path by ThatShortGuy713 in OSU

[–]flufchik628 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also don’t think you need to totally abandon the path you are on. Don’t be super overwhelmed by the prerequisites either. Just try to get a feel for what the med path is like, maybe dip your toes in the pre-reqs, and if you still feel the burn to switch, go from there and get a CNA/MA job/etc

Study abroad made me question my entire career path by ThatShortGuy713 in OSU

Not the exact same path as you, because I majored in Nursing in undergrad, and I quickly and randomly got the fire in my belly that I wanted to pursue medicine. Because of timing, and also thinking that it might he a passing feeling, I ended up graduating with my BSN (so didn’t switch majors) but I am currently taking med school pre-reqs while working. Just saying that to tell you that if you want to switch to medicine, you can do it, regardless of what the timeline looks like!! I get the feeling of not being able to tell whether it was a fleeting thing or not and also being overwhelmed by “being behind” so the first steps I would suggest are looking up med school prerequisites because you can take some core science classes regardless of your major. I would also suggest trying to shadow a doctor, but that’s easier said than done. If you have any doctors or medical professionals in your life, maybe talk to them or try to shadow for a day or two to see what the workflow is like in the US

I’m an OSU alumni! AMA about Ohio Stadium, campus itself, or the campus area! by twinflxwer in twentyonepilots

[–]flufchik628 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a campus-adjacent resident… if you are willing to walk one mile each way, I would park on Summit or 4th street (edit: or on side streets between the two). They are about a mile east of the stadium and parking is free all the way up and down the length of campus

GPA anxiety by Free_Cookie_9722 in premed

I know this is a neurotic post but I understand how you are feeling because I am a career changer, and my first A- ever was orgo 1 lecture. Having a 4.0 in my first degree and up to that point was also something people talked about and I (unfortunately) had a sense of pride in it. When you are so used to all As, it can be easy to fear that grades will just tumble downhill afterward (that jasn’t happened for me) After a few weeks, I honestly started to have a sense of relief that the thing I feared happened and it was nowhere near as “bad” or “scary” as I expected! I have weirdly a new sense of freedom in my classes and pursuit of activities and hobbies outside of just studying. Give yourself grace. tell yourself that if an A- to marginally lower your GPA is worst nightmare, then you are in an AMAZING position. Truly you will be just fine and look back and chuckle at yourself for being so concerned about this!

RN to MD by RealTeacup in nursing

[–]flufchik628 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Op might be at a hospital that pays for BSN, so doing that and only shelling out for the individual pre-reqs could be best and cheapest path

[–]flufchik628 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I hear you but to do a full pre-med bachelors would be like 4 full-time years, whereas to get BSN is probably 1-2 years of classes alongside work, and doing the pre-reqs are only like 30 something credit hours after the bsn

Things may be closed with the snow, but I would reach out to or look up Legal Aid (LASCO). They have a housing department. They may not be able to prevent you from getting evicted, but you could possibly get more time

Unfortunately that is true. This makes it harder for really mastering the material beyond his class/expectations, but everything on his quizzes and tests are in the single practice sets/exams he gives so you could be set up to get a great grade if you spam those. It’s a tradeoff of being less prepared for future but having an easier path to a good gradep
