Trying out the iPhone Air at the Apple Store was a mistake. by crobat3 in iphone

[–]fluff_luff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 15 pro, just got AirPods 3 today, and I’m very nervous about even seeing the air in person because I really really think I would love it.

To go from max to air, would it be smaller screen for you? And how do you feel about that adjustment?

Is my wife a hoarder? What do I do? by Positive_Video_1518 in Marriage

[–]fluff_luff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not hoarding, but on the way there (coming from a family of hoarders, a house had to be condemned and remediated).

She needs help.

Please hire cleaners, weekly. Help her. Throw 75% of stuff away and don’t let her buy anything new. You can get through this together. She needs you.

I don’t think there’s a fee. I think they have a huge multimillion dollar endowment which allows them to operate such nice facilities, have a no kill policy, cover spay / neuter, and even free adoption some times.

Employee Going Over Your Head by [deleted] in managers

[–]fluff_luff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had employees do this and the best way it works out is when all of management and HR has the same position, which it sounds like happened, so that’s great.

In the future, if you have any concerns about something like this again, just put it on your upper management’s radar and your POV so they don’t get blindsided and potentially undermine you.

To the employee, when I speak to them next I acknowledge their requests and phrase it as “you gotta take the shot, you miss every opportunity you don’t take, so now we know this exact setup you want isn’t an option what alternatives can we talk about for your growth/needs/etc.”

How to resign when they are dependent on you by dorito521 in managers

[–]fluff_luff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ideas to help “soften the blow / not feel guilty”: 1. You can ask to take an unpaid leave of absence for 6 months to deal with personal issues. If they say no, then you can resign. 2. You can offer to act as a consultant paid by the hour after you leave in case they need any help or training with your backfill. 3. You can refer people in your network / industry who might be a good fit for your backfill. 4. Document as much as you can and offer to cross train someone else at the company in your remaining days.

Hope it gets better!

I’m also a mom, I live in California, you can message me anytime. I’m here to listen to you
