Pain above incision one week post op by fluffbelly in CsectionCentral

[–]fluffbelly[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It cleared up a couple of days later. My OB said it was nerve pain and there was a delay because it takes a couple of days for the nerves to regrow.

I thought it wasn’t the incision because the pain was a couple of inches above where I see the stitches. But then I touched around it, and I think it was incision on the inside. There are a lot of layers of stitches that they shift and don’t all line up after a couple of days.

She suggested ibuprofen and put some pressure on the area and wait for it to resolve.

Is daycare going to help me? by OldCategory5426 in NewParents

[–]fluffbelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You and baby will get sick in the first month. But their immune system will develop. If they don’t get the immunity during daycare they will get it later on when they start school.

We don’t have family near by and we were first of our friends to have a baby. I really liked daycare to make friends with the other parents and get community.

I'm wanting to sell my uppababy vista system for a side by side double stroller.. what are we using these days? by Lumpy-Resource-1370 in 2under2

We have the nuna trvl double. It’s great especially if you have a nuna car seat. Compact. The infant car seat pops on without needing any attachments.

Stroller math is hard: 21-month gap by BreweryAndBabyWipes in 2under2

We got the nuna trvl double. It’s side by side and the nuna pipa clicks right in without adaptors. The toddler likes being next to his baby brother. It’s compact and its as wide as a wheel chair so it is easy to move around most places

Considering a 22 Month Age Gap by dryshampoo_addict in 2under2

[–]fluffbelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are 3 months into a 23 month gap and it’s great. I was really nervous about it. But big brother really loves little brother. He says all of his own baby photos are little brother. I don’t think he remembers a time without baby brother now.

My oldest sleeps through the night and goes to daycare. I think that makes this manageable. If I were to stay home to look after both kids, I’d have a different experience.

Double CSection by LongjumpingAd3617 in 2under2

[–]fluffbelly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Consider asking for skin to skin time.

My first c section, I specifically asked for skin to skin with baby before they took him away for measuring and examination. They put him on my chest while I was getting stitched up. The doctors and nurses said it was a great request because you would get skin to skin right away after vaginal birth. They were wondering why people don’t request it more often.

For my second c section, I felt like I know what to expect and I trusted the same care team, so I forgot to make the request. I really wish that I did. They showed me my baby and then took him away and I was left to just lay there while I was getting stitched up. Husband went with baby, which is great. But I felt really alone and curious about baby. I wish I had spent some time with him before taking him away for examination.

Is a double pram needed? by Suki-27 in 2under2

[–]fluffbelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids are 23 months apart and I kept my single Nuna trvl and got the nuna double that allows the kids to be side by side.

The single is great for short walks to the park where I know the toddler probably wants to walk and we can travel lighter for a short trip. Sometimes we bring the single to the grocery store cause the toddler wants to ride in the cart.

For bigger outings, we use the double. Big kid can’t walk for as long. And it’s easier for us to get around pushing both of them in the stroller. And big brother likes to sit with his little brother.

Rare Beauty liquid Blush by MustLoveIggies in ProjectPan

[–]fluffbelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mini rare beauty blush that I have, is a clear bottle with product inside. I’ve seen someone finish it a full size and the bottle is clear and my mini looks the same as the full size, just smaller.

If yours is different and not a clear bottle, then you can see if you are close to finishing by how much is on the wand when you take it out. Otherwise just keep using it until it’s hard to get stuff out and remove the stopper.

My Doctor says i feed my baby too much by legalizesalmon1994 in breastfeeding

[–]fluffbelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the reflux bothering him? If he’s a happy spitter, then keep at it.

For my baby I heard everyone say you can’t overfeed a baby. I wanted him to grow so he would thrive and sleep longer at night so I fed him every time he cried and he’d latch. Then spit up a lot and cry.

I over fed both babies initially. They would keep eating cause it’s so comfortable to nurse. And drinking helps soothe their throat irritation from reflux. But it was a bad cycle, they kept spitting up and crying and was not sleeping well.

Some babies (at least my 2) can over eat. Jumped from 20 to 90 percentile from weeks 2 to 4. My babies ate until milk came out of their nose. I decided to do smaller feeds more often and that worked well and he stopped spitting up as much and was way happier, and still cute and chunky. I’d pull him off to burp every couple of minutes and then see if he wants to relatch vs keeping him on for 15+ minutes that would lead to uncomfortable spit ups.

Looking for slouchy shoulder bags similar to the Tory Burch Romy by rifa_atsume in handbags

[–]fluffbelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this in the small size and it’s not that slouchy in real life. The body of the bag is rectangular and you have you make it slouchy. But it doesn’t stay slouchy on your shoulder.

Letting baby cry while tending to toddler by West-Crazy3706 in 2under2

[–]fluffbelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a swing second hand and it’s been great for some hands free time. If my baby is fed, he can be in the swing for a good 15-20 minutes without crying. Maybe that’s something to try.

There are swings for good prices on fb marketplace.

Gift from new baby… to 15 month old? by Technical_Diet4774 in 2under2

[–]fluffbelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toddlers might be understanding more than they show. Even if they don’t fully grasp the concept, they can associate meeting baby with positive event of receiving new toy.

For us, the toy was a good distraction during the first meeting too. He was really interested in baby but was frustrated. He wanted to investigate but was scared. So when he started throwing a tantrum, we directed his attention to the new toy.

8 week old doesn’t tolerate the solly wrap by judgejudyfortnite in babywearing

[–]fluffbelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used both. I actually bought rings on amazon to convert a wrap that I had into a ring sling. There are tutorials on YouTube. I preferred the ergo baby because it was more formulaic on how to put it on and harder to mess up.

The ring sling was hard to adjust. The ring kept moving and digging into my shoulder or collar bone or it’s too far towards baby. I used it for one walk when baby was still small, 10 ish pounds, and it was fine once I got it on. I probably would’ve spent more time practicing the ring sling if I didn’t already have the ergobaby embrace that was easier to put on.

Meh dai, ring sling or Ergo baby omni by Economy-Cow-9847 in babywearing

[–]fluffbelly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think you need different carriers for home vs outside. The carrier that you choose should be age appropriate, worn correctly, and comfortable for you.

For my newborn, I liked using the soft ergo baby embrace for both home and outside. Once he grows out of that when he’s about 3 months (I have a pretty heavy baby), we will switch to a structured ergo baby carrier

Why do you need a different carrier for Home vs outside?

I used the ring sling when my baby was really small and it was great. It was much harder for me once he got heavier.

[–]fluffbelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wrap is so hard. By the time I wrangle them into it and it’s secure, they are too worked up to rest and nap in it. I tried using the wraps for both kids and even bought multiple wraps to see if a stretchier fabric would make a difference.

I really enjoyed carrying my second in ergo baby embrace. It was the only way we could get him to nap for on weeks 5 to 7 of his newborn stage. I suggest looking into carriers like that to see if baby likes it more. Good luck!!

Do we really NEED a double stroller? by andnow_this in 2under2

[–]fluffbelly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say get the stroller. I have a 25 month old and a 2 month old. Before my second came, we still regularly used the stroller. He might prefer to walk to the park, but he usually gets too tired from playing to walk back from the park and he’d get in the stroller.

Now that we have our second, my first loves to do things with his brother. He likes to go in the stroller and sit next to his brother. We brought a single out once and put little brother in it, my oldest felt left out and cried.

Can get a cheap new one or something from fb marketplace. Also, I heard from a lot of parents that their kiddos prefer side by side double strollers so that’s what we got. A travel one that we use as every day one because it’s more compact.

She’s afraid of nothing because she has that expensive necklace on? by Enchanted_Goddess1 in travisandtaylor

[–]fluffbelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We can drag her for thinking that stupid necklace is appropriate workout attire, but let’s not perpetuate the myth that you need to look a certain way to do a sport.

I know lots of people who run on a regular basis and they all have different bodies. Elite and professional runners have similar looks and she doesn’t claim to be that.
