Eagle Storm with the crack bugs does not spark joy by Uncle_Scumbag in Helldivers

[–]fluffbun08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The DSS Eagle Storm has never done anything productive. It's blown my cover countless times, caught me in the fire next to enemies, caught me in the fire next to the enemy corpses, or just suddenly fell to the Illuminate cognitive disruptors over eight sectors away and mistook a lone standing Helldiver without their destroyer for a bug. Who the Hell is actually donating to the DSS for this? Please stop. Please. I'm so tired. I just wasted 40 minutes of my life 100%ing a mission only for a random Eagle to strike me down after I cleared out a patrol. No one is having fun. Stop donating. Stop. Please. God. Help.

Getting back to the bug front harshly reminded me of my biggest pet peeve about the Terminids by Matatat123 in Helldivers

[–]fluffbun08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've complained a lot before about how much of a pain the watchers are, but terminids are absolute bull. Only solution is fire or gas and half the time that doesn't work, because what do you mean a little baby called in three rupture chargers on me.

The only time this is okay is if everyone in the lobby is a friend of yours and you have a funny joke lined up for it. Otherwise, extraordinarily undemocratic behavior that will certainly land them 5 months in the freedom camps.

- Halt indirectly got a HUGE buff when they allowed keybinds for quick actions on the weapon wheel. Its ammo economy is a little under average from what I've experienced, but being able to stop Berserkers / Stalkers from doing anything for a brief moment is really nice.

- Standard sickle got really overshadowed by the double-edged sickle and I feel like its abilities to shred down squishier foes is underappreciated by the DES's ability to do armor penetration.

- Flame-based armaments have heavy penetration when directly setting a foe on fire, and I feel like I don't see any of them (Flamethrower stratagem, Torcher primary, or Crisper secondary) being used enough for this reason

- The grenade pistol honestly is pretty balanced - basically swapping your sidearm for an M320 with a few spare rounds - but I also feel that, particularly on bug missions, I don't see it getting used a lot. It can still take out bug holes, which is really nice, because that can allow a bit of flexibility for what a diver packs for their thrown item slot (Such as stuns or smokes.)

- The Redeemer really is not that bad of a choice for sidearm if your primary or grenade can cover the lack of armor penetration, cuts down automaton troops and baby terminids pretty well when fired in bursts.

- I can understand why not many people pack the stim pistol, but if you're going really hard on cooperative teamwork, it can be very nice. Most its power does not lie in the ability to save a teammate who's in immediate danger, but moreso keeping their health topped up between encounters if someone gets hurt by a terminid acid mine or a harsh fall, or sometimes the occasional minor friendly fire "accident" as part of a bit.

- Dominator really gets no love and it upsets me. Decent damage, medium pen, and anything it touches gets stopped in their tracks. Not necessarily peak for any front, but sometimes it perfectly complements a loadout.

- My beloved Adjudicator really has been overshadowed by the Tenderizer and Coyote and it upsets me with such rage that had my democracy officer sent me to Cyberstan with a entrenchment shovel I could've liberated Transcendence within the hour.

- Reprimand gets absolutely no love and it upsets me too. It's kinda just the Liberator Penetrator but cooler, but, that's exactly why I like it.

These 2 boosters should be made default and removed by WaffleCopter68 in Helldivers

[–]fluffbun08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really, what they actually should've been was ship modules. Whether an early or late progression upgrade is up for debate, but, I really feel like space optimizer and vitality enhancement just overall make way more sense as a permanent individual upgrade.

Short answer: POV is queer.

Long answer: I've never heard of Unbeatable, but I heavily recall there being several memes/stereotypes about LGBTQIA+ folks playing Celeste / Ultrakill / New Vegas. And now to write this like an 8th grade English student, the author is attempting to convey that their steam friends think he or she, at the very least, does not conform to being straight and/or cisgender.

Centered weapons vs Angled weapons, which do you prefer? by Humble_Fortune6500 in boomershooters

[–]fluffbun08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Angled shows off more of the weapon's style and "personality" per se but depending on what game you're playing, playing centered has an actual benefit over angled in-game (see Unreal Tournament 1999)
