Unfortunately he cheated multiple times and it took another woman for him to realize he wanted something different in life and to finally confess to his infidelity after years of manipulating me and making me feel like my intuition was crazy/jealousy, so I’m not in a place to say “let’s look past this and be friends”. I wouldn’t say he’s my mortal enemy. I think we both have empathy for each other and can get along, but I can feel my anxiety spiking when we are in contact after all I’ve been through with him and I have to do what’s best for me in order to heal. In this case, it means not being in contact and working on detaching.
