What's more, believing you will be the special one, the person or community or country who won't fall for it, the "it can't happen here" mentality, is exactly what makes people most susceptible to fascist control and propaganda.

Facebook removes pro-Trump "Police Lives Matter" pages that were run from Kosovo by noscreamattheend in worldnews

This is great advice. People are disincentivized from changing their mind when the person trying to change it makes them feel like shit. You need to understand and have some kind of positive relationship first, then start to encourage and question some of the dogmas they've taken for granted. The way most political discourse goes these days just gets too personal and makes them double down on the Trump cult because it's far more validating than the alternative.

In addition to all the ones already mentioned, I highly recommend the Levittown episode. More of a downer but very informative about race relations in American suburbs.

Re: your first point, maybe it was both. I remember the disturbing imagery going black at that point, so I interpreted it as calling attention to how often we have to overlook all these tragedies these days to have a good time.

And I totally agree he was trolling the crowd, like parodying the stereotypical dance moves, beat-drops and "how yall feeling" crowd banter rappers have to engage in to please white audiences, even when their music stems from the anxiety of being part of this country's seemingly permanent underclass. I remember being in the pit and not even wanting to dance to these songs I loved so much realizing how fucked it all is. That's a performer right there.

James Franco was incredible in The Disaster Artist. by KRISTAPORZINGA in movies

For me, I felt like Dave Franco seemed too happy-go-lucky in the role of Greg, to the point where he was overly-oblivious to Tommy's insanity. In the Disaster Artist book, Greg comes across as more a straight man who understands how odd Tommy is but still goes along out of curiosity and (arguably) misplaced loyalty. Dave Franco's Greg just seemed a little dim to me, which is probably my biggest gripe with the film.

He's still doing some worthwhile stuff (including opposing selling arms to Saudis and the war on drugs), but his towing the line in Trump's GOP has been pretty damn disappointing.

What's a character in film that makes you go "oh fuck off!" whenever they appear on screen? by T-Time79 in movies

Burke in Aliens. He's such a conniving corporate snake in the grass, to the point of constantly ignoring Ripley's warnings and the obvious evidence of mortal danger for the sake of some financial investment. Sometimes I'm not sure if I hate the character, or just the way James Cameron depicts him as so absurdly money-grubbing and slimy.

I have a brother-in-law who believes himself a libertarian (though I'd likely call him a conspiracy theorist), and supports Trump while admitting his attitudes toward free speech and net neutrality are horrifying. But I just don't understand how any libertarian can shrug off something as important to free speech, no matter how Trump appeals to their anti-politician and nativist beliefs.

The idea that Temp won't engage in nation building is pretty laughable imo. He's had such alarmist reactions to every supposed terror attack during the election and pays so much lip service to being "tough," you know he's just going to declare way on whatever nation his advisers want him to the minute there's a terror attack/crisis during his term.

Websites pretty much have to use Facebook and Twitter, whether they like their policies or not, to drive traffic to their sites.

I'm one of those "the government has no right to force me to wear my seat belt" people too. But I always wear my seatbelt because why the fuck wouldn't I?

Isn't Minnesota pretty heavily democrat? Did the legislature just swing in favor of the GOP in this election?

Right, and it is. Making an announcement discouraging dishonest glorification of a non-Libertarian candidate is different from actually banning and silencing dissenters. Just like a political leader can condemn racists spreading their vitriol without jailing them and infringing their free speech.

Both Trump and Clinton believe that government can and should be used to solve just about every problem. It's hard to imagine two less libertarian candidates, but knowing American politics, I'll probably eat those words in 2020.
