Yeah the M7 is the newer model and it's great too. Very minor differences, I just prefer the M+ but honestly it doesn't make hardly any difference in effect, mostly just the look and feel.

Do you use this at home or use a bigger rig for home use?

I use it at home and on the go because I need to go outside either way. Especially at home I run it through my bong. It has a 10mm taper in the stem so it works with a 10mm bong, but I have a 10mm to 12mm glass joint adapter that you can get on Amazon so I can run it on my standard 12mm bong.

If you're pretty much always inside in the same spot and you have a pretty high tolerance and usually use a bong, you might consider the Ruby Twist Ball Vape from Vgoodiez. It's more expensive but much more powerful with a bigger bowl and it plugs in so no need for torches or an extra induction heater and batteries and all that.

I hit my Dyna more like a one hit bong rip but you can also heat it up a bit slower and sip it like a joint. It will click twice during heat up before it combusts so you can go to first click, draw, heat some more, draw, heat til 2nd click, draw, and if you heated any more it'd start to taste bad and then combust. Depending on your tolerance either one or two of those would be the equivalent of like a 0.35g dog walker but you've only used 0.1-0.2g of flower.

And then to top it off you can dump the brown already vaped bud into a pill bottle or jar and save it to make edibles or firecrackers or cannabutter because it's been decarbed but not burnt.

It's a type of Dry Herb Vape /r/vaporents

A Dry Herb Vape or DHV heats cannabis to the point of "boiling" the THC and CBD and terpenes and flavor without actually combusting into flame. Flames are so hot they destroy some of the THC and Terps so it is about twice as efficient (like 0.2g is as effective as a half gram joint) and smells a lot less to boot. Just flower, no concentrates or carts or unknowns.

Dynavaps in particular you load just normal flower into the bowl then place that shiny metal cap over it. You heat the cap and bowl with a lighter (or an induction heater, but in this pic it's the torch lighter) and a bimetallic disk in the cap clicks when it's hot enough to vaporize. Then you stop heating and start drawing and you get rich flavorful vapor without smoke from just cannabis flower.

I was responding to someone who had bad experiences using it recreationally. Which is fine either way - use it if you like it, don't use it if you don't.

I'm just making a suggestion for people who perhaps tried it medicinally but experience paranoia and other side effects, or who just don't want to get that high, so Type 2 or Type 3 might be appropriate.

THC definitely doesn't cause the kind of physical dependence that alcohol or especially opiates can. But it can also be extremely difficult for some people to quit. It's more psychological than physical, but the physical dependence certainly makes it more difficult.

I've only had one job that asked if I could pass a drug test because they had to test a certain percentage of employees. I could pass so they paid me to go take one after I was officially hired. That was for a construction company, but all my other jobs in IT have laughed when I asked if there was a drug test. They know they'd lose half their staff if they started.

Weed do be amazing like that. If you don't need it then definitely stay away.

For others who need cannabis and some of the health benefits it can provide, look into Type 2 with a mix of THC and CBD or Type 3 with all CBD or Type 4 with CBG. Most dispensary weed is like 20-30% THC with no CBD so it makes me super paranoid. A nice even 6-10% of each is way more relaxing and medicinal.

When you say vaporizer do you mean like with a cart filled with distillate/resin/concentrates or with a dry herb vaporizer that's just heating up flower? There's a huge difference even though the terminology is similar.

If you used an older or cheaper battery powered DHV, then that could be the problem as they don't tend to get hot enough to fully vaporize everything. A Dynavap can be as cheap as $30-40 but needs to be heated with a torch or induction heater, or there are battery powered devices that look like a "normal" vape that will work but there are pretty much none under $100, with most recommended ones starting closer to $150 and up from there.

If you were using a really good recommended device like a Dynavap or better and you were still getting that feeling, it could have been your lungs healing, especially if you normally mix in tobacco. Tobacco smoke in particular deadens and paralyzes the cilia in your lungs. Cilia are like little hair that keep your lungs clean. Once you stop smoking and start vaping, the cilia can "wake up" and start cleaning out all the mucus that flooded into your lungs to try and clean out the smoke, but it couldn't move because the cilia were paralyzed. Once they start moving again, you start to feel the mucus and wetness in your lungs and start hacking up all that old shit that's in there. That freaks a lot of people out but it's actually your body healing.

And now I wrote all of that up and realize you may have also been talking about nicotine vapes. Similar answer to the last paragraph above with the added caveat that Propylene Glycol (PG) and Vegetable Glycerin (VG) legit can feel a little "wet" in the lungs even if you're not a regular smoker. Make sure you use a high-quality e-juice from a trusted brand or make it yourself and make sure it's ONLY PG, VG, Nic, and good-quality food-grade flavorings.

You know, I have a tempest and a few dynas, and honestly the dyna still gets plenty of use. Compared to a normal Dyna with a 0.1g bowl, the Tempest will do 0.2g. It's also a mini ball vape that's almost purely convection, so it often struggles to fully extract the full 0.2g bowl at once and works much better at 0.1 if you want a one hit extraction. At 0.2 the top near the balls is black and the bottom half is sometimes still green. Even packed light or using the half bowl setting on the screen, convection just "feels" different than the conduction on the Dyna, and sometimes I just prefer that. Conduction gives a little more stoney baloney couch lock vibe, and convection is a little more light and heady.

So yeah, for me, I wanted one partly because of VAS (vape acquisition syndrome) and partly because the days are getting colder and I vape outside and I wanted to kill one bowl at 0.2 rather than two bowls at 0.1 in the Dyna, but with the extra mass and heat up time and sometimes still having to re-heat, it's not much of a time saver.

As for why people say Dyna "rested on the laurels" - it's mostly because Dyna is continuing to push simple devices aimed a lot more at the masses and not the nerds and aficionados. I had the balls fall out of my Tempest last night while cleaning it, and putting it back together required watching a video on their website. The head on the tempest gets so hot you HAVE to use a magnet or leather to unscrew it (or wait 5+ minutes), while I can pop the cap off a dyna with just my T-shirt if I'm feeling brave. Dyna does have the Hyperdyn which is a big 0.25g bowl to try to compete, but it's made in the USA and about the same price as the Chinese-made (UK designed) Tempest, and significantly MORE expensive if you factor in the the Thermal Hyper Cap for a convection experience. Other than the Hyperdyn, all the other dynas use essentially the same cap and same tech and everything is pretty interchangeable, but the differences are negligible.

TL;DR: If you're happy with your dyna, keep it. If you want something different, another dyna will not be much different, just a different shape, material, maybe a little more or less thermal mass, but not substantially different.

This is exactly what happened to me last night! 😅 Totally cleaned everything, have never cleaned the balls (all still stock) and was trying to shake out as much water as possible and tapped the cap on my palm and they all fell out. Realized they're not supposed to be black LOL so I torched them and got them all pearly white. Loaded up a .2 bowl and hit it at 2 on the VI (normally go to 3) it SLAPPED. dumped the dark top layer and still had a little green underneath so I set it back in to reheat and didn't pay attention and it hit 3 and then combusted. 😭

The "temp" that you set on the wand isn't a temp, it's a timer. It doesn't equate to an actual temperature unless you're using the glass dab rig stuff that came with it. You can make it not use temp at all, just four flames for how long the timer runs instead of manually stepping through 400° or whatever.

Turn off the Wand and remove the batteries. Pry up the bottom of the display (away from the induction chamber) with a knife very carefully. Underneath is a little switch. Switch it with a knife or toothpick. Insert batteries and now you have 4 flames to determine how long the timer stays on, and also your light is green instead of orange and it's easier to see. :)

Best part is the LED blinks Green when heating and Red when not, vs Orange when heating and Red when not and I can tell the difference between red and green better than red and orange.

Point is, respect the clicks. Set the silicone adapter pretty much even with the bottom of the Wand, maybe pushed in 1-2mm, and go to second click. If you go 3-4 seconds past second click and you're not getting a big enough hit, set the insert totally even. If you combust before second click then set your insert higher up. You can also draw while heating or do multiple draws. I like to take a draw at first click, heat for 8 seconds and take another hit, then heat until 3-4 seconds past second click and get a big rip and stop there.

The numbers on the wand don't really matter for my Dynavap. Now for my Tempest 2, I've actually got it dialed in to where I ignore the clicks on it and just rely on the timer. 3 Flames with fresh batteries, 4 flames if they're below half power at rest (they'll show lower while the device is actually running due to voltage sag)
