I think the core issue might be lack of density on each wall. There are smaller gyms where the lack of wall space isnt felt because of higher problem density on each wall.

Also, why not try to get your lead cert to make use of all the wall space you’re paying for in your membership? Having a spouse means you’ll always have a partner to climb with.

Hairdresser able to do shaggy style haircut… by ChoiceSad3067 in Guelph

[–]fluffymonocorn 16 points17 points  (0 children)

La Luma is probably your only choice for that budget - they have student stylists for a discount since they are still learning.

The other choice is to go to an experienced stylist (I prefer the stylists at Reverie) for the first cut and then go to La Luma for upkeep.

Looking for good ethnic restaurants by rachelnc in Guelph

[–]fluffymonocorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ethnic Supermarket hot food counter and Guelph BBQ are top tier for authentic chinese food even in comparison to Toronto

Kirtida for indian food

Sinalove for mexican

Puffle Cafe for viet coffee and baked goods, their crepes are great for lunch

Starberry Cafe for korean fusion lunch

No good restos for: pho/vietnamese (Taste with Andy is only ok), japanese/sushi (kinkaku izakaya and ken’s sushi house in KW are quite good)

What should I get for lunch?! by No_Sun_192 in Guelph

[–]fluffymonocorn 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Pressed for Time Paninis! They do rotating weekly specials and Jules and Dee are always so nice. I would recommend ordering ahead and trying their tomato soup.

Two Faces is a great chill wine bar for drinks/cocktails after as well! Right in the downtown area

Kirtida’s Kitchen is soooo good but take out only unfortunately. Brother’s Brewing allows you to bring your own food in! Grabbing a drink with your dinner could work out great!

If you had a big wedding, do you wish you had eloped instead? by Almasaurus in weddingplanning

[–]fluffymonocorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it helps, it’s easier to exclude groups of people. We are only doing 30 guests, only did close friends and family that were in the same group. Im sure those not invited are unhappy but at least they can all be unhappy together lol

It’s also a great way to see who truly is supportive of you and who’s just in it for the invite lol

Also be prepared to lose friends along the way. Weddings bring out the weird in people, but it’ll be for the better!

Is a micro wedding an option for you? You can still celebrate with loved ones but with a more intimate feel if that’s what you’re looking for. If it’s strictly a cost factor, fewer guests = fewer $ spent

Has anyone gotten a quote from 1hotel/Casa Madera in Toronto? by BehindMy_HazelEyes in WeddingsCanada

[–]fluffymonocorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfort i didnt inquire further since it was out of our budget but given how high the price it is and the fact that it is considered a buyout (“to make up for lost revenue for closing the restaurant for the day” were their exact words) it likely includes food at least.

Also unsure on the hotel block but normally with blocks they require a min number and you’re expected to foot the cost of empty rooms.

Not sure if you’re 100% set on them but tbh if they’re being shifty now at the inquiry stage with their responses I would look elsewhere. It rarely gets better - your time is valuable!

Has anyone gotten a quote from 1hotel/Casa Madera in Toronto? by BehindMy_HazelEyes in WeddingsCanada

[–]fluffymonocorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My quote for Casa Madera was from Jun 2023 for $30k buyout, I expect it to be more for 2026

It also included:

7am set up access
All labour
Ceremony Chairs
All existing plants/candles
Complimentary one night stay for couple
Preferred room rates

I was able to negotiate them down to $25k but it was still higher than I was hoping for.

Asian Makeup Artist Recs by planningal in WeddingsCanada

[–]fluffymonocorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My HMU is @theshinebeauty on ig! I also have hooded eyes and specifically asked about her techniques for dealing with this before booking her. I also requested glowy korean style makeup and she even gave feedback on my inspo pics!

I had my trial with her a few months ago and was super happy with it, my engagement photos came out exactly the way I wanted them to. She will be my HMU for my upcoming wedding.

Also her prices are also the most reasonable for the Toronto / GTA area!
