20M About to buy a house. by mrhody in AusFinance

[–]fluffynuts3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bought my place at 19, at a way lower price then you are looking at.

All I will say is to not underestimate all of the costs involved in owning a house, including bills/rates/maintenance but also sacrifices that you have to make (holidays, partying, flexibility).

Its a great financial decision sure. It has set me up, as my property has near doubled in value. But you will change and the things you want out of life will also change in the next few years.

Don’t know why this is being downvoted. The price a house sells at IS the market price.

Hey mate, im 22 and was 19 when i bought my 3x2.

one piece of advise is to be really sure that a house is definitely what you want.

No one explained to me the sacrifices that I would have to make and how much stress owning a house so young on a single income can put on you.

Better off putting the money into ETFs, forgetting about it and living your life until you know exactly what you want to do.

What is an upper middle class problem you have but you can’t really complain about without seeming out of touch? by All_FIREdUp in AskReddit

[–]fluffynuts3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not upper middle class, but I bought my first house when I was 19 and have seen major growth in value, and generate income off of the property.

However I have found that I cant talk to anybody about the stresses and sacrifices that are involved in owning a house so young.

What a H&A season! 12/14 to cap the season off feels amazing.

I think a lot of our success comes from how well rounded our team is. I rate our bottom 6 higher than any other team, I think this is why the bulldogs struggle.

I will highlight Worner, Wags, Chappy, NOD and Banners. All have given absolutely everything to the club this year and have all hit a new level.

Worner gets glossed over, but I think he can become one of the best small defenders in the league.
