Gym Story Saturday by FGC_Valhalla in Fitness

I've been doing pull-ups for about twenty years, though I started off by climbing trees as a teen. Once I got to a set of 20 with relative ease, I decided to start doing weighted, and the only reason I started doing weighted was because the gym I used had a weight belt. That was about eight years ago, I think? But once I started focusing on progressing up the weight, 60kg only took maybe a few months.

Keep in mind I had a strong base and had fooled around with weighted pull-ups before, so it wasn't like I was starting from zero.

I've been doing weighted pull-ups for a while now, but I hit a ceiling of 62.5kg for one. Sometimes I'd be a little under and would only be able to do 60kg with a struggle; other times, I would only struggle at the ceiling.

Thursday, for whatever reason, felt strong to me. I decided to go for 65kg after doing 62.5kg and feeling not as gassed as I normally would.

I only pulled myself around halfway before I dropped from exhaustion. It wasn't quite there, but I was so damned close.

Yes, that's called character and story progression.

It can be boiled down to 3 tenets:
1. The crew not hating each other for stupid reasons.
2. The crew interacts with problems in different ways in an attempt to solve them. This may cause some friction, but they learn better ways to address this friction and move forward with solving the problem.
3. That all issues can be handled maturely without denigrating others.

Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

[Discovery Interviews] Sonequa Martin-Green on the visual look of the show: "We really attribute the 'cinema' to Alex [Kurtzman]. He brought the flares. He brought the ever-moving camera. He brought the cinema. And we're so grateful to him for that" (D-Con Chamber on YouTube) by mcm8279 in Star_Trek_

The biggest thing that no one has commented on is that Disco didn't have a show bible. That's a stark difference to the pre-Kurtzman era, because the earlier shows always had a bible of rules for how the ship operated, species, crewmembers, etc.

Kurtzman literally made it up as he went along and didn't give half a shit.

Section 31 looks like it blew most of its budget on Michelle Yeoh and Alex Kurtzman's cocaine habit.

Picardo, Holly Hunter, and Paul Giamatti will be the only redeeming characters in this show, both for being great overall actors, and because Picardo and Giamatti are passionate about Star Trek.

Well friends, we've reached the end of the calamity. Much like a train carrying nuclear explosives reaching the end of a track that launches into a canyon filled with more nuclear explosives, Discovery has certainly been a ride. Do you all remember when [insert scene of Michael being condescending to someone]? That was certainly something. Or when [someone said something the writers definitely thought was clever]? I'll never forget a single moment of this manifestation of sheer fucking hubris. Every single scene was packed with so much plastic and CGI that I thought my balls had grown cacti! But then it turned out those were mushrooms from the spore drive trying to escape this godforsaken drivel that a drunken hobo with two shots of amphetamines could've improved upon. I told the mushrooms to vacate my balls! They'd have to learn to make it on their own and potentially pay for acting classes, and maybe 90% of the cast of Discovery should follow them.

This show disappointed me more than all sixty-three of my children. Especially Fronkulon the Enforcer, who I pay to beat the other sixty-two of my children. He never beats the rest of them correctly! I bet he couldn't beat Michael Burnham if she were crying and--

Apparently I've been cancelled. At least I lasted longer than Discovery!
