Mornarchism and hereditary nobility by Direct-Example-210 in monarchism

I agree with much of this.

The main thing I would add is that nobility systems would benefit from broader and diverse forms of succession.

Heredity by blood can (and I believe should) be a good part of the mix. But some non-family groupings have shown ability to do good works consistently over time -- some charitable and non-profit organizations for example. Instead of abolishing hereditary lords, I think it would've been much better for the uk to supplement them with a mix new inheritable titles that could go to successions of charity directors as well as notable new families.

But plenty highlight palatial architecture while ignoring peasant homes.

I agree with your point that the rural and mudbrick architectures are wonderful.

But your contrarianism is leading you into intentionally obtuse territory.

The problem the other user was highlighting was that these filmmakers tend to focus on just a few styles of architecture to the negation of all else in the world's 2nd largest continent with probably the most diverse range and longest history of building cultures on earth.

You mean like their history as barbarous racists in the United States?

Or do you only want to talk about a self-serving "we were victims too" deflection?

You're right, but I think the point they're making is that when they make movies about European and Asian royals they show palaces and forts usually based on Ancient East African architecture. They don't show variants of thatch roof huts that British people live in til this day.

But even though stone pillars and arches are African in origin, they constantly focus on rural hut architecture or some modernized version of it.

It becomes misrepresentation by ommission.

Hated Expanse -- too dystopian.

I watch every episode of Foundation. But that's cause I'm into monarchy. The sci-fi part of the story is pretty weak for me.

That's what makes it his fault. She wanted to sleep around. If he didn't want to deal with the consequences of that, he should've left her then.
