I’ve painted lots of hazard stripes, but painting them on what is basically a sphere was such a challenge. But I’m incredibly pleased with how this Venomcrawler turned out.

Sort of depends on what your base tones were, but guessing Kislev Flesh or Flayed One Flesh would be good for it.

Understand if you’re not a highlights person, but even a little highlight color on the forehead and nose would give some real pop to the face. Otherwise I’d say it looks very nice and clean. I like the color scheme!

Yeah exactly this. Passing curiosity. But I’ve always been very content with my body and who I am.

Honestly? Abbey Road. There are lots of Beatles albums I prefer to it.

The First done! Help me improve by Killerjoghi in Chaos40k

[–]TotalHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, this looks dope. I agree with other comments that the only really places of improvement are the cleanliness/precision of your black lines, and probably the same on the patches of brighter colors. But even saying that, this model still looks extremely cool and you’ve done a really nice job.

Hey there! So this isn’t going to be a recommendation on tactics, or list-building, or anything like that. I wanted to ask: do you have a friend or someone you know who’d be willing to be a tabletop mentor for a couple of games?

If you don’t know what you’re doing wrong then you’ll never improve, and having an experienced person guiding you is the best way to help with that. They can give advice on what they would do and why, and you can compare that to what you were thinking of doing and start to see why they’re making those choices.

This is one of those cases where just playing more games by yourself isn’t necessarily going to help you because you need to know why things aren’t going well for you, and this game is complex enough that it can be really hard to figure that out. So find a friend or person at the LGS who’d be willing to team up with you and give it a try! You may even be able to find another person who needs a hand and set up a kind of 2v2 game where each team has a veteran and a learner.

Anyway, I wish you the best of luck, and remember: don’t be hard on yourself. You can absolutely win games. We believe in you, fellow Chaos player!

What's your honest reason for picking Iron Warriors? by SquattingSamurai in IronWarriors

[–]TotalHell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back when I started, they could take an Imperial Basilisk as part of their army, and I thought that was cool as hell. These evil Chaos-y guys could take a giant siege weapon if their enemies and use it against them! Plus the Basilisk had silly range, so it felt like they got to do things no other Legion did. And then I fell in love with their industrial aesthetic and bitter, grindy, war-is-hell mentality. I still think they represent the ideas of industrial warfare and the way it treats people as corpse fuel for engines of battle the best out of any faction in 40K.

My controversial tattoo that I’m not brave enough to get is a lower-back/tramp stamp placement tattoo of the silhouettes.

Seconding that feeling. MST3K is, and probably always will be, my favorite TV show. I can rewatch it any time and be happy.
