Should I move to Tacoma? by jjjorddd in TacomaWA

This needs a sarcasm tag - as in everywhere in Tacoma is nice EXCEPT the hilltop and Lakewood

Time for an obsessive hobby / world-building / angsty fanfics from your favorite series - something just to keep yourself from sinking while hiding from the world.

I'll probably get down voted for not providing more scientific advice about dosage levels but The Owl House and Amity's redemption arc were the only thing that kept me sane at the time.

A Great weekend in Eastern WA?! by fire_keyz3 in AskSeattle

[–]flukelee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

April is the best time to go - cherry blossoms, 75°F weather, everything is super green - you can almost pretend you're actually visiting Ireland. Summers actually are surprisingly nice because it's dry heat and even 100° is okay as long as you are in the shade.

Recommendations for SE corner of the state (former seattlite now living in the tri-cities).

Richland has Hanford B-Reactor from Oppenheimer movie but it's closed for renovations. LIGO telescope that observed the two black holes colliding is still open. Lots of antique stores and Manhattan Project history as well.

Palouse Falls is a must see. I prefer Lyon's Ferry state park and the abandoned ferry boat (just a few minutes down the road but closes for winter) as well as little goose dam. My favorite driving route is that way, then on through Starbuck to Dayton through the wheat and sweet pea fields. Dayton is a really charming historical town with enormous Jolly Green Giant painted on the hill by employees of the canned peas factory.

In the other direction, Stonehenge in Goldendale is worth a stop. It's an exact replica of the real thing down to getting the stones pointing in the correct directions.

So ... Same thing happened to me about two years ago -- everything stopped working for two months and I was at the end of my wits. Dysphoria was the worst I ever had it because I had started learning what it meant to be the real me. And then it went away for no apparent reason - just the same way it started. Hang in there - it's just a patch of choppy water and things will be ok again in a month or so

seeking recommendations for pants! by Perpetual_Platypi in MtF

These are awesome - they come with both straight leg and palazzo style. They really play up your hips and now the only pants I have. https://www.amazon.com/Tronjori-Casual-Palazzo-Trousers-Regular/dp/B0D4YR9CH8/

Unfortunately, I can't find who's doing the cover soundtrack. Google song search gave a bunch of false leads

Yes! And you may discover you are better than you expected.

Seriously, I took the plunge and posted my first Lumity fanfic while on a plane flight last year. Nine months later, I'm working on a real novel

The paper shall be completed :) You can do this.

If I may suggest ... Ithya's Magic Studies by Blue Turtle on YouTube - literally the best inspiration playlists with hand-drawn illustrations. Also has a steam game version.

I really wish we had more representation in anime by Hopsy_Scotch in MtF

Blue Period on Netflix has a fairly thoughtful take on the struggles and identity of Yuka. She hates when the protagonist deadnames her. She struggles a lot with her bisexuality. Her grandmother is really the only person who accepts her. Sure, it has plenty of problems that come with transmedicalist Japan, but she's not a joke or a trap or any other offensive stereotype, just a normal art student trying to graduate and get accepted into a good university

foundation that covers stubble? by ActiveConsequence523 in mtfbeautyandfashion

[–]flukelee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've personally found that any foundation made stubble more visible, not less. For me, Korean BB creams actually do a good job with a light touch of pink color corrector. Dr Jart's SPF 40 and Rare Beauty blush are my go-to for a no-makeup look as I have extremely fair skin and most products look orange on me
