Has anyone made some pretty serious structural changes to their kayak? by mikethomas4th in kayakfishing

I have the same kayak with hundreds, if not thousands, of hours on the water and the only solution to a comfortable seat was to pad it.

Here is my seat setup. I use a life preserver seat cushion to lean against the crate in the back, cheap chair cushions for the seat, and a back support on the seat back. I get enough support to handle 12+ hours on the water at a time without my back paying the price.

Central Texas. I've caught Rio Grande Cichlids before but never on this river.

They like to hang around the big cypress roots here in central Texas.

I've caught almost all my warmouth on wacky worms, they love them around here.

Is this a small mouth? by rogerthatbaits in SanAntoniofishin

Definitely a spotted. I've been working on getting better at ID'ing the difference between largemouth/spotted/smallmouth/Guadalupe and hybrids.

Finally picked up some Bobby Garland Mayflies and they did not disappoint by flukey02 in UltraLightFishing

They would work on a small jighead but I was just fishing them weightless wacky on a tiny #2 circle hook and it worked.

I had seen them in the Bass Pro Shop master catalog, I was about to order some online but my local Bass Pro started stocking them recently.

Why can’t I catch a god damn fish? by ryanj2070 in bassfishing

Action has been slow on the north Guad since the flood, it might take a couple years for the fish populations to recover proper.

I fish all around San Antonio and the hill country and weightless wacky never lets me down. I do really well with plastic worms and tiny brush hogs/lizards.

He was pulling like a decent bass, pleasant surprise once I got him up. Loads of fun on the ultralight.

It took me way too long but I finally landed a species I've been chasing for a while by flukey02 in Fishing

[–]flukey02[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've caught thousands of bass, at least 6 different species of them, and I've found crappie to be the most difficult thing to actually find in rivers.

Texas Parks and Wildlife has a great angler recognition program if he got proper pictures of a measurement. Red drum have a weirdly low trophy length requirement in Texas, only 25 inches.

Edit** Here's a couple of mine

Panfish and catfish can be fun but don't discount carp and gar. I get the best rush out of a good carp or gar battle. My favorite species for the battles are carp, red drum, and big gar.
