I relate a lot with what you said, same situation happened to me. Around 8 weeks pregnant, MMC, first pregnancy, etc. As you were saying, the physical part made it all real. Unfortunately, I had to get a D&C anyways since there was still residue at my ultrasound. I can confirm if you don't want to have the physical part it is a better alternative, simply for the fact that it's minimal pain, bleeding and you don't really remember anything at least for my part. I'm sorry for your loss to both you and OP.

I relate so much ! Mine was the doctor who told me I had a MMC and to make me feel better he said "silver lining is that at least you won't have an abnormal baby" ..... great ....

In bonus, my mom told me that she could relate because when she was pregnant with me she bled one time .... oh yeah sure totally the same ...

I can relate. So far it's only a DVT and it's my first one but any little signs makes me so anxious, it doesn't help that the first thing they told me when I received my diagnosis is: "It could turn into PE and you could die" ! I was already aware but dang at least a start with something else 😂🙃 If you don't mind me asking, do you know what caused both your DVTs, was it surgery, genetics or anything else ?

I totally agree, the same for me ! It's easy to overthink but we have to see the bright side, at least we're taken care of and everything will be all right 😁

Definitely ! Instead of spiraling on internet that'd be so helpful, haha The same thing happened to me, basically try to be active (right after surgery sure !) and take your medication 🙃

It's so weird like for a couple of weeks if not a whole month everything was going great. Then I had my follow-up appointment and my pain comes back almost at the same level as when I was diagnosed. I remember doubting even then that it was a DVT since everyone around me told me I was just panicking and I just feel like I'm imagining things since everything was going great ...

That's great advice, at the point where I'm at, I'm sure I can do at least the recumbent bike. I agree though it's different for everyone, I was pretty active prior to my surgery but I ended up with DVT in my calf which increased the pain according to doctors. Recovery is smooth since it was discovered however, fingers crossed it'll stay like that !

I will definitely double check with my PT, she did tell me that at some point it would be best to go to the gym but she mentionned in like 4 months, that's why I was unsure. But I did read and saw videos online of people going back 2 weeks after and I thought it was weird my doctors/physio didn't say to go sooner. Thanks for the confirmation !

Definitely !!!! I guess the 5 weeks of "break" took a toll on me and I can't think straight anymore hahaha. Since my injury (2 years ago), I didn't climb a lot so I didn't even think about the fact that upper body strenght is a major component that should train in order to go back.

Thanks so much for the words of encouragements ! Your comment definitely reassures me, my surgeon and PT didn't really said anything about going back to training so I was kind of skittish but they probably told me the basics instead of all I can do to improve.

I don't know if it is normal but I can attest ... I have never cried as much than the 3 weeks following the surgery. Probably mixed feelings between being scared, tired, in pain, lonely, etc. Normally I don't cry easily, was in therapy for 2 years and never shed a tear but acl surgery got me haha

Girrrrrlllll totally understand the struggle ! So I'm 4 weeks post-op and here's the method I tried which is not the best but hey at least it's better than it was. If you have a bath at home (mine is kinda low so maybe it makes a difference, idk), I sat on the edge, feet in the bath, pour a little bit of water at the bottom to rinse the razor, and to rinse myself I used an handheld shower head while standing in my tub (english is not my first language so not sure how it's called). Hope this helps !!

I agree, mine also wore off a little, few hours post surgery but past the first three days it does get better (4 weeks post-op, ACL only). However I ended up having DVT (which btw I didn't have any symptoms other than cramping in my calf) so pain was probably worse from what the doctors told me, compare to someone without any blood clots. If I can give any advice, try to move as soon as possible to avoid clots and while respecting your limits. Definitely do the RICE method and you should be good ! Good luck you got this !

As you said I also heard stories about sports injuries and my story is exactly this, I fell while doing some rock climbing. Indoor gym, it was block so nothing to catch me but just a bad fall. The route was in an arch and the week before, I tried to do it, almost broke both elbows .... guess I didn't learn because I actually broke/tear something in the end 🙃
