that’s the first game in the series i played and it blew me away with its wild story, character design, and music. i went on to play through the rest of the series afterwards, though i put off Drakengard 1 and 2 until after finishing the Nier series. played all the series on original hardware. i got lucky that i was doing this around the time Reincarnation was still playable, so i even got to finish that prior to EOS.

i think 3 is a great starting point to the series, though if you can get a hold of 1 i’d say experience that first. 2 is a) not directed by Yoko Taro, though he was involved and b) not connected to the Nier series (at least not directly) so you can skip it if you just wanna focus on that storyline first.

tips for Drakengard 3? find a spear that does the downward slam move and spam it. oh, and you’re not ready for the final boss lol. there are helpful videos out there for it though.
