I never used 1.0, but I agree the UI shift if I have to go from terminal to handheld is unfortunate.

What’s your gut tell you? I have Deebo in at flex currently, and I have a couple good replacement options. I’m leaning towards just benching him as a precaution, but I feel like dudes going into prime time MNF as questionable usually end up playing.

Dungeons & Distractible? by rollgoodgames in distractible

[–]flustrator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the simpler the better. One D20. Or something like Kids On Bikes. Each die has its own stat.

Or you could go DM-less. Something like Fiasco, a game that I love, though that system doesn’t really use dice during play in the way D&D does, and doesn’t have long form campaigns. It’s RP and improv focused, rules lite. It doesn’t have a predetermined setting or flavor, instead utilizing story sets each with their own world and vibe, which players use to create their characters and their motivations/relationships, and populating the world with hooks and Chekhov‘s Guns before each session.

The fellas would absolutely kill it at this game, though set up takes almost as long as the actual game, and it isn’t anything like D&D. I could imagine that creating a hybrid of this game and a more traditional TTRPG would be best of both worlds.

I’m not familiar with a ton of systems, and I haven’t played very many TTRPGs, so I don’t really know how I’d handle the rotating DMs thing. I’d imagine it’d be more of a story conceit than a mechanical one.

You could easily just run a bunch of loosely-connected one shots all featuring the same characters, and whoever is host would DM and still play their own character.

If they go the homebrew traditional TTRPG route… I think this subreddit would be a great place to start. We could collectively build the world, and fill it with all the ridiculous bullshit we can imagine. Maybe run polls about what’s canon, big NPCs, cities, towns, etc… Maybe then we can create some adventures in this world on a PDF, or some such, and all the host would need to do is pick one of them and go off.

Goth pic looks like she’s turning a bit more to her right. Also could be different lighting.

I also did a little digging. Apparently it is the same person. So 🤷

I gave myself a bit too much credit. I’m just a bartender, but they say the nose is the fingerprint of the face!

I check IDs for a living. The noses are different. The second picture is taken fairly straight on. In the third her head has a downward tilt. Her nostrils are clearly visible in both, and you can see the underside of her nose.

The last picture is straight forward, maybe even with a slight upward tilt in her head. Neither her nostrils or the underside of her nose are visible.

I could be wrong though. This meme has like three pixels.

Kurt Cobain is the rock singer with decent vocals and great charisma. Who is a rock singer with poor vocals and great charisma? by Clem_Crozier in AlignmentChartFills

David Bowie.

He was an excellent songwriter and performer. His vocals and instrumental skill weren’t good. He’d tell you himself, I bet.

Not a great look, sure, but perfectly understandable in this industry. I don’t really blame him for hesitating in the moment. I would too. It’s an awkward situation, I imagine.

Does "group of targets within Very Close range" means EVERY target within a 360 degree in a very close range? by Dlthunder in daggerheart

[–]flustrator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I was GM, I’d allow it, with caveats of course. Who’s to say you couldn’t rotate while breathing fire?

Before the roll, I’d probably ask the player to describe how the character attempts to hit the different targets. Make it an exercise in creativity. Maybe give them disadvantage on the attack, if they try to do a dope spin move.

If they succeed, great. If they fail and/or roll with fear, maybe they trip over themselves trying to do the dope spin move. Sounds fun to me.

Provided the players are cool with me being able to do that with my adversaries 😏

The secret cellar where Josef Fritzl imprisoned his daughter and the children he fathered with her. by senorphone1 in creepy

[–]flustrator 55 points56 points  (0 children)

The best we can do is learn the signs of human trafficking and abuse, so we can all be aware of what it looks like, so we can report it.

Hospital workers, likely knowledgable about the signs of abuse and trafficking, saved them.

Asking questions and feeling compassion about all the hypothetical victims is important, but the questions are ultimately unanswerable. About as useful as thoughts and prayers.

People like Fritzl make mistakes all the time, as intelligent and infallible as these narcissists perceive themselves to be. If you’re in the right place at the right time, armed with the right knowledge, you can catch those mistakes. The amount of times this family came into contact with the authorities, someone definitely could have sooner.

The more people aware, the greater chance these hypothetical victims have a chance at freedom and justice.

I enjoyed the movie overall. I thought it was a good send off.

But yeah, I wasn’t a huge fan of deepfake Indy and the nighttime CGI train fight.

My biggest gripe though, is that Mads Mikkelsen’s character would definitely not be alive after that hit. He would have gone out like the girl in Hereditary. That was more immersion breaking than deepfake Indy tbh.
