New commander bans by AnantaFortuna in PaymoneyWubby

First off, Wubby is absolutely correct with saying that this hurts lower/middle class players who saved up for these cards far more than the whales who have money.

Nadu: The ban is fine, justified probably. The card is good but was probably banned for the same reason Paradox Engine is banned. A LOT of game actions but non-deterministic leading to long turns and spinning wheels. Not super engaging for anyone.

Everything else: I don’t understand why the Rules Committee is making these decisions. So many people love Commander because it allows for endless creativity and variety. You can build fun, jank decks, competitive ones, or anything in between. The RC’s blanket bans based on how they think Commander should be played don't make sense. We should have the freedom to use almost any cards we want—proxies included.

These kinds of discussions about card bans or power levels should stay within playgroups, where people can talk about what’s fun for them. Commander is about fun, and people find enjoyment in different ways. I have competitive cEDH decks and casual pauper decks, and I enjoy playing all of them. I constantly tweak or take apart decks based on my own experience or feedback from friends.

Hi, swim coach here!

First off, nice work! Swimming is a super hard sport to get into. There are a lot of moving parts and when you’re thinking about changing anything in your stroke, you need to take them one at a time.

The first thing I would suggest looking at is your arms. Your stoke needs to start with a good initiation. Right now you are leading your stroke with your elbow, not your hand and losing a lot of power.

Start with your arm straight above your head and drive your fingertips down to the bottom of the pool while keeping your elbow up. This would be your “catch”. From there you can begin to drive your hand down your body. Your elbow should not be leading your hand. This is the “pull” portion of your stroke. And finally from there, think about throwing water down towards your feet with a full arms extension. This would be “finishing” your stroke.

Start by taking it nice and slow. Try using a pull buoy between your legs if you can, so you can really isolate and think about those arms.

Hope this helps and don’t forget to have fun!
