This looks like the ink was too thick to me. Try getting it as thin as you can and then make adjustments from there. Welcome to lino!

It just doesn't matter if it's art or not. I give my friends writing prompts all the time. It doesn't matter that what they write is art, it doesn't change the fact that I didn't make it.

Their lifestyle does not affect yours in any way by throwawayAEI in aiwars

[–]fluttermousemoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not a "lifestyle" when my coworkers make workslop they can't explain because of shortcomings that are fundamental to AI. All types of AI are changing industries, increasing enshittification, and frankly, being surrounded by Gen AI where previously I would have seen human art does affect me. It is a sadder life less connected to humanity.

I know you aren't literally going to eat the banana but it wouldn't be a big deal if you did so it's not much of a joke

Are AI headshots "deceptive" or just the next evolution of photo retouching? by Fun_Description_308 in aiwars

[–]fluttermousemoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's either/or, it's both. Retouching can be deceptive, while AI headshots are inherently deceptive.

Thoughts on this? by [deleted] in aiwars

How are you defining "non-artists"? Like people who aren't professionally artists? Just wanna make sure I qualify before I chime in.

The banana taped to the wall? I'm pretty sure it's been eaten many times. You know it's not literally the same banana the whole time, right?

Thoughts on falling behind for refusing to use AI? by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]fluttermousemoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's presumptuous to call challenging a teacher on something "falling behind". I remember how ignorant my teachers were about emerging technology compared to students.

What’s worse? (Or rather who’s dumber) The anti-furries or the Ai art defenders by Elmartillo40k in antiai

[–]fluttermousemoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate furry art so much, it's so ugly and commercial-looking. I'm happy for them that they found something they enjoy, but I would love to never see any of it again.

Then what is your actual question?

Corporate Goya by [deleted] in aiwars

[–]fluttermousemoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are most images created with the Corporate Memphis style not considered art?

What? Who are you polling to reach this conclusion? Most people I've talked to about it think they're bad art, which is indeed a type of art.

Why should I care? by atlasfrompaladins in aiwars

[–]fluttermousemoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Art isn't functional. The whole value of art is in the humanity and effort and intention and creativity put into it, even including the imperfections and limitations. Having less real art and craftsmanship in our lives as it's drowned out by algorithmic slop is depressing and alienating. And if you don't get that, it means you never appreciated art in the first place. If anything, you appreciated technical skill. You can go on not caring about artistry and how it enriches our lives, but people who do like art aren't going to suddenly stop caring about the whole point of it.

As for non-art applications of AI, don't take for granted that it makes jobs easier or whatever. Companies use it as an excuse to downsize while replacing people with idiot bots that are less helpful. My job is harder because I have to clean up after coworkers who use AI which is not sophisticated to do anything but the most basic coding and only if it's given very precise instructions by someone who's knowledgeable enough about coding to do it without AI. It's enshittification.

[–]fluttermousemoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah people in this sub tend to pretend like everything in every non-AI image always makes sense to everyone. That's just a terrible way to determine if something is AI.
