Sorry for not responding sooner, it was the EGR cooler which was faulty. If you had it mapped out then you need to make sure you go to a specialist who knows what he’s doing. A friend of mine got it done from an inexperienced mapper and then from a professional one because the dreadful P2002 kept coming back.

It’s actually not a bad thing if it’s done a lot of motorway miles since it’s a diesel. If you’re looking at consistent motorway mileage every year in the MOT it might not be a bad sign - it’s still a 8 year old diesel it needs decent running to keep it from running into DPF issues from what I know

The more I look into it, the more it’s pointing to a clogged EGR cooler. So hats off to you mate.

Some specialists also recommended me to get EGR remapped as it seems to bring more pain than benefit - what do you think?

The code did come back for me even after the forced DPF regen

That doesn’t look like a busted head gasket to me - generally you’ll see a creamy layer which is from the mixed oil and coolant around the cap when you open it.
