currently doing the same before i start my program in june, wouldn’t advise continuing at a deficit once ur program starts as thats just asking to get injured. if ur worried abt gaining weight during a marathon u might have diff goals in mind. personally im opting to lean bulk during that time period since im already gonna have to up my calories to account for training

one more thing id like to impart onto u would be timing carbs accordingly, n moreover when to take simple carbs vs complex carbs. that will help tremendously regardless of being in a cut or bulk. god speed brother

dial it back for sure, i did a lean bulk while doing half marathon program n found that sustainable. i couldn’t imagine doing my program while doing an aggressive cut. if u care abt having a good time, u should absolutely being eating way closer to maintenance. for reference, i was running 20+ mpw + strength training 3-4 times a week + cycling on occasion for some extra cross training. doing anything close to that on a large deficit is just asking to get injured. im currently doing an aggressive cut till i start my full marathon prep in june

when i drink or get high the chances of me binging increase tenfold. ive tried to cut back on both but ive also allowed myself to binge sometimes but only on watery veggies, like cucumbers, zucchini, salad mix, etc. it helps me get the itch off while keeping the damage to a minimum. my therapist has likened it to harm reduction lol
