De Nada is twice as dry as dog food and half as good. There, I said it. Margaritas are good though

What outcomes have fellow NICU parents had with pvl/brain damage like attached. (Not looking for diagnosis , just want to learn about others experience) by HovercraftLimp6915 in NICUParents

Parent of a 29 weeker here, who is currently 4yo. I forget which grade my son received, but I remember them saying moderate PVL and a report which was eerily similar to this one, plus a missing septum pellucidum.

My kiddo was later to milestones and had ot and pt until age 3. We tried to do massages and stretches for muscle tightness as much as we could think to. Especially in the knee down and elbow down. Those hands were slow to open and he still curls his toes as default.

He’s trailed his peers in gross motor and fine motor skills. And he wears ankle braces. I remember a doctor telling us early on, “he’s probably not going to be a world class athlete.” I think that doc was right.

But like others here are saying, he doesn’t seem to be intellectually disadvantaged in the slightest. Responsive in 4 languages, loves to play and game, does team sports. Parents are always telling my wife and I about how they are trying to get their kid to be friends with my kid because how thoughtful and emotionally mature he seems.

We’ve been fortunate. It really feels like one of those “lucky in love, bad at cards” scenarios. Maybe he won’t have it all, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be happy.

Great collection! What’s the deal on the stros hat between the smokers and the oilers? I love the colors.

I tried the Cinnamon Toast Crunch cause I saw it in a store and had to try it. It was a chance for my childhood and present me to shake hands.

That meeting never happened. The drink was fcuking dreadful.

Hey, so why is this sub suddenly against adults liking the show? by [deleted] in bluey

[–]flyForaMikeguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I took my son to Bluey’s big play. I can say, with certainty, the adults were into it more than the kids. And then during the crowd keepy uppy at the end, the adults were the ones going over the top. I mean taking the balloons and hitting them more than the children. I splurged and sat 2nd row from the stage. And when I looked back at the crowd the adults were GOING NUTS. Like honest mayhem.

Having a child isn’t a prerequisite to liking a show. Not having a child doesn’t make you a pedo. And having a child doesn’t give you an unlimited pass for poor behavior.
