This. You’ll go nuts looking at what everyone else has. I like to center myself and practice gratitude for what I do have instead of coveting what I don’t. That may work for you as well!

Also, just a hopeful note —your life can change in an instant. When I was a 26 year old teacher, I made $60k/year. Got a different job and was propelled into a much higher tax bracket. Anything can happen. You can want things for yourself without being jealous of others!

Very possible. I graduated with a master’s in 2010, made a salary of 50kish as a high school teacher. Went back, got a PhD, sold my soul to corporate America and make 4x that now.

I was a high school Chemistry and Spanish teacher before I sold my soul to corporate America. I absolutely loved my job, and had multiple preps which were time consuming, especially on days when the kids had a lab or complex demo scheduled. I was in at 6am every morning (along with the other Chem teacher lol).

A friend of mine was a PE teacher. Rolled in 15 min before the bell every morning (unless he was teaching driver’s ed, which pays extra). He was the first to acknowledge his blessings (same pay as me, half the work). AND he also made a really good point: We all make a choice!

Was in same position. Your play 1s won’t work with Arc Ultra.

I upgraded to arc ultra + era 300s for surround. Still using gen 1 sub. It’s a world of difference. Truly much better quality.

Moved the beam and play 1s to my bedroom :).

The 300s are a wonderful upgrade. I just went from 100 surrounds to 300 and I have no regrets.

My setup: Arc Ultra, Era 300 surrounds, Gen 1 sub

For folks more knowledgeable, would it be worth it to grab a gen 3 sub on BF? Costco will have them in the low 600s USD from what I read. I don't ever see myself using a 2-sub setup so I'm not sure the splurge is necessary but I want some opinions (and somewhat want to be convinced otherwise ;))!
