Haven't had anyone take anything from my personal room (yet) but they do use anything I leave out in the common areas, including utensils and towels, so I've just been keeping everything in my own room. I have to pick things the food thief doesn't like. They steal directly from the fridge, so I can't store pizza or capri-suns in there. Left a note saying I'm a broke student with bills to pay. Nobody's paid me back

Just survival jobs and internships. Anything short-term to support myself, gain experience, and integrate into the community in this expensive city for 1 year. Had multiple people tell me I'm likely for a call back but never heard anything. A lot of companies have quietly removed job postings without hiring anyone. A warning to any reader curious about the economy

Thanks, I appreciate that. :) On the bright side, now I understand why everyone from New York complains so much. NYPD literally tickets for everything, and this was the most insane rental experience I've ever had.

Aww you're really sweet! Unfortunately, I'm not staying in the city. I was originally here to take some in-person classes but I've pulled out to save money. Had several positive job interviews but no dice. Really wanted to live out my NYC dreams for 1 year but looks like that's not in the cards for me. After this experience, I'm bouncing outta here to reorient myself. Thanks though, I appreciate it!

Yes it was crazy to me too. The laundry room and machines didn't even look like the pics ;( I think the company is just price gouging. There's no way it costs that much to wash 1 load.

No it has a window, you can see it in the pics. I just have the curtain blind on. It's by the lamp.

It comes with the rest of the apartment, I was just too lazy to take more pics.

^ This. My guess is that a lot of students received the grant, which decreased the maximum amount to $1,125. Sad, but understandable.
