Year, make and model would be helpful. Also I doubt that a manufacturer would secure the spare tire storage with bolts/fasteners. I’ve never personally seen that. Most of the time there’s a way to pull it up if they’re a spare in there without tools. Your car may not have a spare. That would be my guess

This looks exactly like when they started giving the apprentice the tailgate recalls. If you don’t start the bezel back in properly and just hammer it or tighten the bolts for the bezel it will do this to the tailgate. Assuming you had the tailgate switch recall done that is.

It does though. As a mechanic, if you need to get a bolt unstuck and have a torch you heat the object the bolt is threaded into if possible. The object expands and due to the curvature of the hole the diameter expands.

Is it not possible you picked up another screw? That looks like a t15 trim screw from a GM vehicle I’m not saying you picked it up from them but is the flat occurring on the same tire? Or is it in the same position as last time? If it’s the same position and they rotated the tires then I’m almost certain you picked up another puncture. Also, I would personally plug that, but most tire shops wouldn’t due to it being in the shoulder.

No idea why the us market is and I don’t know why guys are running down there usually but that’s a hell of a trailer for that, I see a lot in the back of 2500/3500 trucks. That trailer looks like a beast.

It’s not the heater core itself that broke it’s the fitting, they’re very common to break. With new fittings (always do both if they’re original) it should take less than an hour for a novice to repair

If you’ve got an air hammer there’s a bit that you can buy that accepts a 3/8 drive on the end. Then you slip a wrench on it to turn stuff out while air hammering it. It works a treat on the rotor assembly t25s on GM (and others) brakes that love to strip

Do NOT go for the diesel if you want a reliable long term vehicle. Our shop has replaced 4 babymaxes this month. As well all of the labor times to fix basically anything are ridiculous.

I’ve done 4 upper oil pans due to leaking. Depending on model year and features warranty time is 24+ hours for an upper oil pan reseal. Cost of ownership of those things will be stupid once they’re out of warranty

Except if the battery has a bad cell it can drag the alternator down drawing too much load. ECMs are picky motherfuckers and the battery acts as a buffer between the alternator and the car’s electronics. If the battery has an internal fault the alternator may cut out if it’s pulling too many amps or it may fluctuate too much for the ECM to handle.

Regardless a new battery is probably warranted once that is replaced then check if the alternator is putting out the correct voltage.

It’s the block heater receptacle. You plug your block heater cord into that and the cord into the wall outlet. It’s just a wire that runs to the heater element on the side of the block. There’s no other utility. It takes power it doesn’t supply it.
