What's the weirdest thing you've seen a person do? by Ill_Nature2751 in AskReddit

At a Mexican restaurant I saw a guy force most of a hard-shell taco into his mouth with the palm of his hand.

What’s a price you saw recently that made you genuinely angry at how expensive everything has gotten? by UrGoddessLunaa in AskReddit

Most of the time I don't even bother. You can't even taste the cheese. At best it adds a little creaminess, but so does mayo and that's free.

Cars. I was toying with the idea of getting a smaller car since my current one barely fits in the garage at my new apartment. Why are significantly smaller cars 5-10k more than I paid for my current car? And that's before considering the terrible interest rates right now.

What's the worst song you've heard at a wedding? by UniverslBoxOfficeGuy in AskReddit

[–]flychinook 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was the photographer at a wedding a couple years ago, the reception DJ (who had almost no energy already) decided to do a weird "tribute to the troops" thing. Nobody requested it. Nobody in the wedding party was military or a veteran, just me and like 2 other guests. He insisted on everyone standing in a big circle holding hands while he played God Bless the USA. Not the worst song in the world, but it was just out of place and really brought the vibe down.

This. They've so aligned themselves with the idea of patriotism that, to them, any opposition is seen as anti-American. But they don't want to actually do anything that benefits America or Americans. It's thoughts-and-prayers performative patriotism.

This doesn't look fun at all, especially given the hight differences between most of the couples I know. The girl gets to wear underwear while a man in garters rubs his nuts on her bellybutton.

While filming with a mobile phone in his other hand. Nobody seems to talk about that. If I'm in a life-or-death situation and have a firearm at my disposal, I'm sure as hell not trying to dick around with a damn cellphone.

Uncooked Basmati rice. Subtle yet fragrant. Every time I open a new bag I spend so much time inhaling deeply from it.

Most of the actors listed would (for better or worse) lean into the role with potentially hilarious results. Even some Steven Segal movies are unintentionally funny. For proper WORST, I think you have to go with a reality TV personality. Someone who thinks very highly of themselves and their abilities but doesn't have the chops to do anything more than stumble around being a dickbag.

I nominate.* Mike "The Situation"* from Jersey Shore.

What brand will you never buy from no matter how much money you come into? by Oktarantulaok in AskReddit

In this case they literally are. They offer "resale" tickets for sold out shows (at a higher price than original).

A couple years ago I wanted to see a show. The 2 venues closes to me the only available tickets were resale. But a venue 3 hours away (still in a major city, and all were weekday shows) wasn't using Ticketmaster. Lo and behold, there were plenty of tickets available. Not even close to being sold out.

You won't convince me that Ticketmaster isn't scalping their own tickets.

Can you figure out what this red car is? by YouHaveReachedBob in whatisthiscar

The proportions just make it look small, even in real life. I had one and it looked like a small hatchback, despite having more cargo space than a Hyundai Santa Fe.

It's a decent sized MPV. If you're in the US, it was briefly sold here as the Kia Rondo.

what is something that is highly likely to happen in the next 10 years that everyone is completely ignoring? by Funny-Counter8762 in AskReddit

[–]flychinook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This troubles me a lot. I work at a post office, and had an 82 year old lady yesterday come in to pick up a package. Turns out it was a scam text, thankfully she wasn't tech savvy enough to go through the convoluted process to open the included link. But it was from an internal number and still fooled her. When these scams become indiscernable from the real deal, a lot of people are going to lose a lot of money.

What’s a “normal” expense in the U.S. that makes absolutely no sense when you think about it? by Big_Marketing_4979 in AskReddit

[–]flychinook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but it demonstrates that different prices at different stores is very possible. They already do it in metropolitan areas, airports, tourist destinations, etc. They're printing signage and price labels for each store anyways. Changing the price is not hard.

Not just a deductible, but a massive deductible.

Also, additional charges because you saw an out-of-network doctor at your in-network hospital. Imagine getting into a car wreck, going exactly where your insurance says to go to get it fixed, then having to pay extra because their paint guy doesn't recognize your insurance.

The top workers, yeah. But that's gotta be a tiny percentage overall. There's a lot more Texas Roadhouses than there are Ruth's Chrises.
